Who plays FFXI here?

Anyone in this forum actually own and play FFXI?  Chrono?  I\'m going to buy the game soon, and I\'ll be back in the states end of July, so I was hopin that there\'d be some english speakers here that\'d be interested in teamin up and forming a group.  I\'d go with the Japanese thing, but really... Japanese lately has just been giving me a damn headache

You wont be able to play the game online in america or anyplace besides Japan if you import it. Its not a wise idea. Well, if you just wanna look at it.

Animal, could you possibly explain to me exactly why it won\'t work?  I\'m also a little iffy about whether it will work there or not, but I really don\'t see any reasons as to why it wouldn\'t.

From what I understand of it, the server will know that your not in Japan and will either not connect you or just drop you. I have friends in HK who are tryin to play this game and they are getting problems like this.

Eventually - this game is gonna allow inter-regional co-op, am I correct? At least, from my understanding, I thought this game would allow team co-op from Japanese to Americans to Europeans once the game has been released internationally.

I haven\'t heard anything like that Gman, since AFAIK, FFXI dosen\'t have any quick-chat type features which will translate what phrase you choose into the language of the person viewing it. Also, if they do add in something like that, I hope they do a better job than Sega. I mean, sure the quick-chat on PSO is an excellent addition, but it\'s flawed. I just met this lil japaneese chick named Z E R O who\'s a blast to play with.. but I can\'t do the translation thing over simple mail.. so if she\'s in a password game it\'s not like I can just ask her for the pass or send her a note saying Hi or anything.

I thought all Japaneese students had to take basic english classes in school? How come most of them that I meet can\'t understand a word I\'m saying??
