Summoner 2 shaping up some
« on: June 15, 2002, 03:08:58 PM »

I enjoyed the 1dst technical flaws and all and I\'m looking forward to the 2nd one because it breaks some molds over the more popular Japanese styled RPG\'s

but anyway I think the graphics are shaping up some, but they still are lower poly count

but its the overall experience that will count anyways

arff! arff!  arff arf arff!!

*humps fastsons leg*

The original was fantastic.. its a pity the graphics and framerate were really poor.. and there were some other flaws (and bugs) but the story, gameplay and other factors were fantastic and it was a great experience

i was sad to hear that the old battle system is gone, and that there are only 3 people in your party now, but lets hope its better (and that the summons actually make a huge difference in fights rather than just being another character)

[Edit]

Ok, the pics finally loaded for me, and i must say they are a huge improvement, but still pretty poor graphically.  Lets just hope that they have it up and unning at 60fps (asking too much?) have gotten rid of that HORRIBLE draw distance, and.. well.. im also hoping they have been taking tips from Naughty Dog.. perhaps those huge loading times between areas could be reduced somehow (streaming off the CD like ND would be great) but i doubt that

anyhoo, thats just the graphics, im sure the rest of the game will be great, its a must buy for me (even with the new battle system.. bit risky).. and if the story is half as deep as the original.. we\'re in for a treat :eyemouth:

I don\'t find the graphics horrible at all

just not the best we\'ve seen

draw is supposedly fixed/ I imagine it will be partially do to lots of curving paths

I too am sorry to see the original battle system go cause I was really hoping they would just improve upon it

loading times and frames per second are questionable still though

well, after seeing how great Red Faction 2 looks (especially in comparison with RF1) its given me hope with the company that they can improve this game just as much..

seeing as the graphical quality of the characters, textures etc. is the about the same (little better) with the upgrades of draw distance and everything implemented, it shouldnt be too much to ask for framerate  and loading time improvement, should it?

oh well.. at least im not the only one excited over this :p
