Is the PS2 losing its most famous franchises?
« on: June 21, 2002, 10:30:24 AM »
PS2 already has lost Metal Gear Solid 2 as an exclusive, what\'s next? Final Fantasy? Are we going to be left with games like Jak and Daxter in the end? Sure they are fun and very good, but it isn\'t as deep and compeling as MGS2.

Don\'t get me wrong, games like Jak and Daxter are great but it doesn\'t give an image of a mature system. What new games are there to wait for now? I heard, DMC2 is not a PS2 exclusive. Rachet and Clank(sp?) doesn\'t interest me... If there is a MGS3, it probably will be out for XBOX, too. I\'m worried about the PS2 actually failing, knowing that the XBOX has Project EGO, Unreal Championship, Halo 2(possibly), Dead to Rights, Enclave, Panzer Dragoon Orta, and Doom 3 as exclusives, will we have any chance of winning with Final Fantasy X/XI, Timesplitter 2, Ratchet and Clank?

What else does the PS2 have in the future?

Who cares if it is exclusive. Just be happy that the system gets the game.  Does the fact that MGS2:S is going to be on XBox first make your enjoyment of the game any less?

XBOX is losing currently because of lack of games, if XBOX is able to get more good games, they will be more of a threat. Now that the XBOX has many exclusives that I am very interested at, it makes me really PO\'ed about buying my PS2 for $300 3 months before the price drop. I just really don\'t want my money to end up in waste, seeing that most PS2 games are not making me interested other than DMC2 and Final Fantasy XI. I also thought Sega was going to support PS2 much more than it is, me being a Sega Dreamcast Fan. Now knowing that Shenmue 2 and probably the rest are coming out only for XBOX makes me want to go back in the past and buy an XBOX. I just bought a GameCube so I do not have enough money to buy an XBOX considering my lil brothers b-day is coming up and he wants one. (I don\'t live w/ my brother)

why did you buy a GC at all, you sound pretty mad about it. If I were to buy a GC at all, I would wait until at least August for Mario, buying it now is like punching yourself in the face. Don\'t worry, PS2 has many games coming out that look and play great, just because some of them are multiplatform (none that I know of have gone from being PS2 excl. to XBox excl.) doesn\'t make them worse games.

If you are so worried about it, ave up a couple hundred bucks and buy a used XBox and a game. That way, you will never miss out on any exclusives to any system and you will be sure to be able to get the best version of any multiplatform game you want!

So far I\'ve been happy w/ my GC except for the whole Celda issue. I\'m not mad about buying my GC, I\'m not too happy about buying my ps2 for $300 3 months before the price drop. It\'s not easy to get money when you are 19, as well.

isn\'t this identical to the one in CD???

Maybe this is a test to see the reaction between the one in discussion and the one in debating.

Ehh, who knows, for what it\'s worth I think Sony is set for the next few years, they have nothing to worry about.  With a userbase of 30+ million, how can they lose the edge?
