It\'s in the 80s and I highly doubt it\'s a prequal. You probably play as a different character. Although, I didn\'t read much about it though.

Hey, Im new to these forums (my 1st post).

As iNfEsT said, it will be based in the 80\'s.  From what I know, just the 80\'s not the 70\'s.

Skyrider666, I doubt it\'s a prequel, it\'s just an entirely different game (or course with same point/purpose).  And, I think you\'re a different no-named guy this time.

And, back on original topic, that is the real boxart.  Or at least it is from just about every other site about GTA on the net.  I think the first to report it was \'www.gta3.com\' and they usually only have the correct news.

Someone mentioned the use of motorcycles in the game.  I really HOPE you can use motorcycles, the would rule!  I don\'t see why you couldn\'t if it is on the the boxart.  I hope it\'s not just for one particular mission or something.  But even if you can\'t get one it won\'t matter that much.

Sweet a game from the 80\'s, will you hook up with some cocaine snorting business listening to hair metal? I hope there is motorcycles in this one, I was dissappointed with the lack of them in GTA3.

Well i was reading Gameinformer, and they had a thingy about it. the creator or whatever of this game said that is going to be far better than GTA3, much much better. he didnt really say that but thats what he meant, i cant remember the xact things he said.

Thanks for the welcome Titan.

SirMystiq, I was reading that too and that got me pretty pumped about VC.  I don\'t know if it was from that same article in GI or somewhere else, but I read that they will use the same graphic engine, disappointing some people, because of the horrible pop-up in GTA3.  Too me, the graphics were great, it\'s just that pop-up got me, for instance: Parking a great car (Stinger, Infernus, Cheetah etc...) and then it disappearing when you come back to get it (but I guess that\'s why they have the save garages).

And luckee, yeah those superbikes were AWESOME!  Did you ever play GTA London? They had those frickin\' annoying Scooter Bikes or whatever they were called that were incredibly slow, made me mad cause I thought I was getting a real motorcycle and not that thing.

And I don\'t know if anyone has brought this up yet, but I\'m sure everybody wonders about it: Whether or not we can go inside buildings in GTA:VC.  If they use the same graphics engine, they probably won\'t but I\'ll keep hoping.

ALRIGHT!!!

I found the magazine, ok this guy Sam Houser said he promises improvements that are goint to "surpass GTA3 as we set our sights on making an even more revolutionary experience, this is due to vice city\'s size, freedom, and improved gameplay."

HE SAID MORE FREEDOM!!!! some maybe we will be able to go inside buildings, gameplay maybe well be able to do stuff in cars and crap.

If you dont the release date
is OCTOBER 22!! and is set in the 80\'s.
