GT Concept - Help.
« on: June 24, 2002, 02:37:48 AM »
OK, I\'m sold already and I\'ve only seen a few screenshots.

But I\'ve been wondering, how is it going to work? Is it a game of it\'s own, do you need the original, Is one of those hard drive thingies needed?

So many questions so much laziness and apathy to go get the answers myself.

Its not an addon.

Its an entirely different game to GT3. It contains concept cars only, and only has an arcade mode. It still plays similar to GT3, but has been made so novice racers can just pick it up and play.

The graphics have been worked on quite a bit, and now utilises full screen anti aliasing. Its very smooth, and looks very good.

You do not need GT3 to play this game.

You mean you can\'t tune the cars or anything?

My god, the arcade section is the part of the game I avoid at all costs, I\'m sick to the f*cking back teeth of arcade racers. I can\'t believe Polyphony would sell out like that.

Oh well, b*llocks to it, I\'ll buy something else instead and wait until this is in the used bins for about £10, I can\'t just not buy it, I own all the others so have to get this at some point.

Dude, its just an easier game to play. Its still going to have awesome physics, am excellent gameplay, its just not going to be so tedious for new commers.

Also, you cannot tune prototype cars anyway, as most cars that are in this game are not at their final specs.

Its still going to be an excellent game, just easier to play.

Unfortunately the thing that hooked me on GT was the fact you could tune cars, anything less and I\'ll go to my other fav genre, FPS\'s, until Colin 3.

Roll on Unreal 2, it\'s gonna be HUGE.*

Its only $25,  too.

But I dont like the arcade only,  even though I dont see that much of a difference between sim handling and arcade.  I heard the US release was getting cars from 2 auto shows, I think.

I hate the way people who couldn\'t be hack the originals depth have managed to put enough pressure on Polyphony to make it just another braindead arcade racer.

There\'s hundreds of crap handling arcade racers to choose from but they have to bollox up/simplify a brilliant game for mass market sales.

GRAN TURISMO IS TUNING, THE REASON I STILL PLAY IT EVERY NIGHT,................\'NUFF SAID.

Yo, it\'s a $25 arcade racing game and it\'s about CONCEPTS. Polyphony didn\'t "sell-out" to anything.

And as Racer said, you CANNOT tune prototype cars. Besides, don\'t complain, it\'s dirt cheap, anyway.

You could tune anything in GT3, even if it\'s just to adjust suspension.

Engine and/or suspension tuning allowed,

-Viper GTS-R Concept
-Mazda RX-8
-Impreza Rally Car Prototype

Just suspension adjustments,

-All F1 Cars

All of the above were in development on GT3\'s release(I may have missed some of the concept/pre production lot). I\'ve already spotted duplicate cars or very similar in car listings for concept.

Just not good having to wait until 2003 for number 4 in the series, PS2 will be outdated by then and I\'ll need a new console probably.

I know, I should get out more but the simple thing is this, the real worls is becoming a fake!!
