Following that logic.

Crime doesn\'t exist. Its a marketing tool.

Sex doesn\'t exist. Its a marketing tool.

Drugs don\'t exist. They are a marketing tool.

Yeah I\'m sure Viacom is hard at work faking ET sightings.

BTW, Before anyone quotes me. I don\'t necessarily believe in Aliens. I just think serranos logic / reasoning is ridiculously flawed typical of your average MTV Rebel.

Now, well that you say you don\'t necessarily believe in aliens...

That\'s really what I think. And your logic is flawed too, because you\'re comparing this alien subject with things that are tangible, totally different, and happen to be marketable as well.

Well even though there really isn\'t any hard evidence that proves the existence of extra terrestrial beings, wouldn\'t it be kind of arrogant of us to say that there are no  beings with eqaul intellgience and/or higher intelligence out there in the vastness of space.

I mean come on. Lets get real here. The earth is just a minascule speck in the Universe. I\'m sure there are thousands if not millions, of other species out in space that are thriving and doing just as good, if not better, then us.

And on that note, I bid you adieu

It\'s kind of hard to believe in that there are other species smarter than us.. Maybe it\'s human nature, us wanting to be the superiors. But, I do believe there is a higher being out there..  *hopes this doesn\'t turn into a religion thread*

If we do encounter life, knowing the human race, we will want to take their land and resources.  I believe that we would be the hostile ones....they just have the probes.

The only thing that scares me is thier insistent attempts to locate my "G" spot, despite my efforts to convince them otherwise.

So my answer would be yes.
It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

I believe in "aliens". But i dont believe they are in the matter that hollywood has imposed on us. Im sure that there is another inhabital planet with intelegent or not so intelegent life. There has to be. How could earth be the only inhabital planet.

Oh wait maybe its the work of GOD.

Also, there are many different versions of aliens...wither they look like humans or little trolls.

The ones that most scare me are the "Greys"  Huge black eyes, shorter, skinny, big head

I wet myself.......

There is no proof,  point over.  Sightings arent proof.  If they were big foot would be real,  and all the people who have seen angels would have really seen them.

No evidence.

Over.

Fulltilt,  the evidence will be in my post coming soon,  I find all the members of the board will find it interesting.  It is all hard facts,  no doubt.  Both creationist and evolutionist agree on the facts I will post tommorow

Dangit... I\'ve lost my notes...

[Mojojojo mode] Curses! [/Mojojojo]

Anyways, I\'m sure some of you are familiar with... err... that... one... equation, with which one scientics claims that you can estimate the number of planets capable of sustaining life within a galaxy? Right? Anyways, the numbers are quite large (though only estimates). And with the universe being as big as it is, I see it hard to believe that there aren\'t any other civilisations out there. Of course, reality might might be that there\'s just the "great silence", with just us here mangling one innocent, happless planet. The thing is; you can\'t know for sure...

I\'m not afraid of aliens, because if they\'re smart enough to make it here, I\'m sure they\'re smart enough to get the hell outta here once they see how stupid the human race really is. And it doesn\'t take too long to notice that :p

And yes, sightings aren\'t proof, they could be just to improve tourism, boost people\'s belief in the unkown and  to form clubs and other crazy stuff (very popular among religions too!).

God can\'t be proven, aliens can\'t be proven, for all we know, God could be an alien!

-----------------------------------------------

Which brings me to my favourite threory concerning the beginning of human life :

A bunch of aliens were travelling around the galaxy, in search of a planet they could use for... something (amusement park, "car" park, aquarium), arrived on earth in the past. They noticed that some of the local animals were quite intelligent, and could be used to help them, with slight modifications. So, they combined their own DNA with the monkees\', and vóila; u got humans.

One of the aliens then thought (they communicated through thoughts); "Hey, Bob, these are quite the amusing little cretins don\'t you agree?" To which Hardware replied, through his mind; "Yah, let\'s leave \'em here and see what becomes of them, could be amusing!"

So there.

This theory would explain why they keep on coming back! To monitor our progress!

I think their final report went something like; "Oh sod the little idiots, they\'re getting dumber by the day..." "Who wants to go get a GalaxyBurger?" "Oooh, ooh, let\'s go by Beta Quadrant in Jamestown, that one waitress there has the sexiest antennae EVER!"

I think the problem with humans is that we are too smart not that we are too dumb.

We are so intelligent that we make technological advancements way too fast and then we\'re not able to fully adapt to them. By the time we get used to a certain technology and have the opportunity to put it to good use, a new technology comes out that we use to make the same old stuff "new and improved".

According to drakes equation
N = R* • fp • ne • fl • fi • fc • L
N = The number of civilizations in The Milky Way Galaxy whose electromagnetic emissions are detectable.

R* =The rate of formation of stars suitable for the development of intelligent life.

fp = The fraction of those stars with planetary systems. more info

ne = The number of planets, per solar system, with an environment suitable for life. more info

fl = The fraction of suitable planets on which life actually appears.

fi = The fraction of life bearing planets on which intelligent life emerges. For more information, please visit Dr. William Calvin\'s "The Drake Equation\'s fi"

fc = The fraction of civilizations that develop a technology that releases detectable signs of their existence into space.

L = The length of time such civilizations release detectable signals into space

of all these factors i think L is the most important because if L was say 100 million(i\'m being optimistic here:p) years that would raise the number of civilizations to 4million(this is an estimate) and this is only in the milkyway let alone the universe.

with such numbers i dont think anyone can refute the  possibility  that aliens exsist(excluding clowd offcourse).

:)
