Carnivorous plants live in like swamps where there is no nitrogen. The plant eats bugs as a way of getting nitrogen that is usable. So when the plant catches a bug, it releases digestive enzymes that break down the bug and uses its nutrients. In the case of the Venus fly trap, for each bug caught, more traps spawn
