How about an ease up on the 100x100 avatar restriction?
« on: July 06, 2002, 09:48:49 PM »
Its just that if you have your monitor set to above 600x800, then its really, really hard to see the avatars properly.

What if the restriction was eased up to say 130 or 150 pixels? The extra size would help alot of people eyes.

Its just a question. It might not be possible because it might not fit in with the forums teplete.

Just a thought.

Bigger avatarrs = slower loading.  This forum is bad enough for 56k people as it is.  Sure, all us BB people won\'t notice the strain, but it\'s a bit much to ask for considering only recently it was allowed that you can manually change your user text and picture.  Why not be satisfied with what you have?

And racer, at 800x600, these avatarrs should be even BIGGER on your screen then at 1024, or 1152, or 1200, or 1600 resolutions.  Remember, the smaller the resolution, the bigger the picture.  I thought you were a 3D artist, this should be common knowledge for you.

Yeah I was wondering about that.. 600x800 should make the picture bigger than my 800x600..

Yea, with 56k that would be killer.  Hell I remember some of the problems I had with avatars like Soulgrinds.  Well now I\'m in BB goodness.

Err, yeah, hence the reason why I said it hard to see the avatars with a res higher the 800x600.

The higher the res, the smaller things are on screen... I don\'t know what you misinterpreted.

Well, maybe it would be a incentive for those 56kers to upgrade...
