Legal Abandonware! (Psst.. Free classic games!)
« on: July 07, 2002, 02:21:18 AM »
Hey, I found this link on the offical Sierra forums while browsing their message board and thought I\'d share it with all the classic gaming nuts who might be interested. I know Abandonware is looked down on in these forums, but according to the link every game they have up for download has been licenced out by the copyright owning companies for free distribution. The catch? They\'re old Amiga titles, and must be ran through an amiga emulator.

The very fact that this was posted by a well respected member of the forums on an (IDSA-member) corperate website.. and has been allowed to stay there by the moderators.. lents to it\'s credibility. If you want, go ahead and remove the link if you believe it\'s inappropriate.. but check it out first since this might be a great oppertunity to pick up some vintage games from your youth.

(Be sure to check out QFG2 while you\'re there. ;) )

That site does have a search engine that does find games that IDSA try to keep out of abandonware sites.

I really should delete that link, but lets see what mm says hmm.

If anyone finds Shadow Of The Comet, let me know.

It was the first videogame I have ever played, I was like 10 or something.

I loved that game, can\'t find it anywhere.

Yes, I loved it. I never got anywhere in it though cause it was hard (I was young so I didn\'t understand it).

There was a game I played when I was young.  I can\'t remember the name though.  You like crashed on this beach and went all over the island.  There was a maze, a type of simon game with a drinking fountain, and some lady who told your fortune.  ANY IDEA WHAT THE GAME WAS CALLED?  This was on like win 3.1 I think.

Hehe, abandon ware...  thats some good stuff.
