I have no idea if all this is true, especially about the DVD less game, you can just go online and purchase a game and play it withouth any disc.

and for this your gonna have to have BB.  And I know lots of people do, but most console consumers don\'t simply because it\'s not available in their area.  But i\'m sure we\'ll see some DVD less games.

seems like a bad idea, considering they\'re eliminating a large part of the market, because not everyone has bb.

I\'ve heard about this crap.

No physical media-- no games for me:mad:

UNLESS!! They charge like $1 an hour. Considering RPG\'s take me appx 40-50hrs on average, and games cost $50. That works to $1 per hour.

Considering inflation, I bet the games, if charged hourly will be like between 4-6 bucks. That\'s like CRAZY MAN!?!? I would NEVER buy a game for a flat rate ($50-100, whatever) and not have possesion of it. What of I want to dig it out after 3 years?? Oops!! Sorry the game was removed from the server.....but thanks for your money...

To me, collecting games is part of the experience.

I think it will only be an option for companies making games to have downloading of games as a secondary option or something.

If they do this, I think it\'ll be the end of Sony\'s reign.

Thats not the argument. The argument is a couple things. One of the main points being that a lot of people do not have access to a broadband connection (as I don\'t). Another argument is that unless the user has physical possesion of the game, they never feel like they actually own the game (which they don\'t). This takes away a lot of the experience and incentive to buy something. If Sony did try this (I highly doubt they do) it is almost gurantee\'d to backfire. The general consumer market is not ready to part with the physical format . They are not ready to part with the ritual of buying something and having the option to put it on a shelf when they want and if they want, three years from now play it again or sell it on Ebay.

An ironic point to the BB only system argument is this. A lot of Sony "fanboys" make fun of MS for going BB only for their online gaming network "Xbox Live". Yet Sony is wanting to make a system that is BB only and would get rid of the physical disk format?..Yea, like I said ..thats ironic...Wait, I forget..Its "revolutionary".... More like, its idiotic...

well I would look at it like this if i were sony:

when you charge people for online things, that require no physical possesion to operate, they will figure a way to get it free.  Look at the current situation of P2P file sharing, just imagine when gaming is completly online.  Warez sites will have entire libraries of PS3 games, for no cost.  Which would hurt the industry in such a way that gaming could be doomed.
