The first forums I went to were the N64cc ones, Bjorn\'s last forums.  They had a slightly different problem.  There was a group of people out there who over time grew to dislike the forums and the people in charge.  Before closing, the place was hacked like 4 times in 5 months.  Finally, they just didn\'t put it back up again.

Yea, this is loads of crap.  I know of forums you have to pay just to be a member which I believe someone above mentioned something like that.  Ahh well 90% of your forums dont pull these gimmicks so ofcourse the ones that do are going to lose they\'re crowd and thats the price they\'ll have to pay.

Ahh, thankyou..I was worried how well this would go over with members of the boards but it\'s 99.9% male so I figured it was worth a shot.:shy:

Jeez, n64cc forums were more of a chore rather than enjoyment. It was like babysitting over there. And how many times we had kids hack us and play games, it was just a big mess.

Different crowd back there, best thing I ever did was bringing back mm, he restored order, even through the hard times, I realized why he did certain things. It was kinda hard to accept some of the things at the time, but it really paid off.

Just shows what happens when some people take things a little too seriously.  Too bad mm had to leave.  We got hacked like hell after he left.  Oh well.

I loved the place, but I can see how it could have been a real hassle from an administative standpoint.  It\'s just too bad it had to get that way.

I\'d be a fool for saying this here, but mm can fully support my saying for this.

Our forums, were heavily influenced on what Nintendo, at the time, was. The age group was very young, and our older audience was scarse at best.

Probally the biggest difference between both forums, is that this forum is pretty mature to say the least.

I mean, our audience (back in the n64cc) hacked us whenever we make a color scheme that their eyes didn\'t like! (for ex. this one, we had so many fits, it got so rediculous!).

Wasn\'t worth the hastle in keeping it open any longer once the N64 had offically died in many peoples eyes, and we\'ve been hacked for the 10th time. Just wasn\'t worth the time, energy, and most importantly, the money.
You think positive, I\'ll think realistic.

I realise all of that.  I agree 100%, I think that a lot of people saw how young, and in some cases immature, the people were.  Still, I just wish it had ended differently.  None of us knew that the end was coming when it happened, and we had no chance to really plan on another forum to go to or anything.  Most of us thought, until the very end, that there would be a Gamecube site that would follow the N64 one.

At the same time though, I think there was something about the way people were at the cc, which for me at least, seems to be missing here.  Maybe it\'s just the immature power struggles that were constantly going on there or something, I don\'t know.  It just seemed to have another level to it at times.
