Ah nevermind... I got it...

By the way... When you guys run ad-aware, do you scan the registry as well? And if there are components do you delete them from the registry? Isn\'t that risky?

I do.  I just create backups each time.  No problems so far.

Do not delete the "spyware" file from Kazaa Lite, thats just the dummy file that it creates to trick the program into thinking it has spyware so it will run.

Gator is currently running on your system, that is why you can\'t delete it.  There is some backgroun application using it, not sure which, but one of them is and that is why you can\'t delete the file.  Do a search on the net on how to get rid of gator, or you can do it my way...

When running winME, I downloaded gator to see exactly what it did and it\'s actually a downloading utility much like getright, only loaded with spyware constantly running on your system.  To get rid of it, meaning delete it entirely, I had to find all the entries of gator on my system and forceably dekete them.  In other words, I pressed ctrl+alt+ del until explorer crashed and my monitor refreshed which in effect closed the program.  When the program was closed, I just deleted it and rebooted.  Problem solved.
Don\'t you ever touch my cape.

If you have some crap spyware running in the background and can\'t delete it because of that, just run \'msconfig\' and goto the start option. Unclick the program(s) and they won\'t run when Windows is booted.
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAPETIME!

Kazaalite still has spyware.  When you start it up it automatically contacts 5 or 6 sites, one of which puts Gaytor on your puter.  Here\'s how to get rid of this..

First close Kazaalite.  Then find a file called "HOST" and open it up with Notepad.

In Windows 95/98/Me it\'s in c:\\windows\\
In Windows NT/2000/XP it\'s in c:\\windows\\system32\\drivers\\etc\\

Once you open it up add these lines at the end:

127.0.0.1 http://www.brilliantdigital.com
127.0.0.1 desktop.kazaa.com
127.0.0.1 shop.kazaa.com
127.0.0.1 http://www.bonzi.com
127.0.0.1 http://www.b3d.com

This stops KL from contacting the sites it usually does, even its homepage.  And when running Adware delete everything but CYDOOR files.  Cydoor is the dummy file KL uses.

Just use Grokster.  The thing is just as good, but it doesn\'t come with as much crap.  What it does come with is easy to remove.  When you fix your computer \\/apor, you should try that, since I doubt you\'ll go back to KL.

Yeah, but there are some other things these programs are good for.  I love downloading live performances by artists and stuff like that which you can\'t always find in stores.  Plus you can often download songs before you can bye them
