The future of WWE
« on: July 16, 2002, 12:58:26 PM »
Man, was I suprised last night on RAW what happened.

Signing a rat to the business, Eric Bischoff, former WCW owner. Now, I follow wrestlingplanet.com\'s insights on the future, cause I think WWE is at an all time low. But this mustive slipped them or me for that manner.

And I followed up this event by reading whatever wwe.com had, and did you know, he had arrived 15mins priror to the show? The wrestlers were just as suprised as the fans were that he came.

Well, it seems like Vince and Eric put their past behind him, and I believe he can indeed spice things up for the better. My best guess as to why they hired him prior to PPV (I bet you they probally would have wanted to hire him after PPV) is cause of nWo. They were severly crippled, now that Nash, the only original member left, is now injured, again. And how were they gonna make up a story line for signing HHH to RAW? A trade?

And now who is going to be the manager for Smackdown? My predictions, if the writers really want to stretch the story line, they would probally put Shane as manager, develop a fued between Bischoff, which will evolve into a RAW vs. Smackdown. But again, I\'m speculating, and that is probally almost too typical.

Hiring Stephine is going to be a huge mistake. How long ago was it they got rid of her? Please, she sucks on camera, her whinny voice annoys the hell outta me. They had better not hire her.

And how was that, putting Taker in a F5 by Brock Lesnear! I\'m a huge Lesnear fan ever sine he debuted. Bout time Taker got his ass wooped, ahahahaah.

Now, remember if your following, WWE is trying sign Goldberg, but there is a whole thing w/ him and what he\'s doing. My guess, WWE has better chances at signing him now that Bischoff is a manager.

Man, and if only Stone Cold was back, this is almost too good!

I can\'t believe Vince signed Bischoff. Last I heard these guys hated each other!

I hope he doesn\'t join the nwo, as it will be just like the WCW days of a few years ago. Maybe they are trying to fill the hole left by Austin and now the injured Nash, who knows?

Only time will tell if things will be a success in the coming months. We will have to wait and see.:surprised

nWo is dead. I think he made that clear last night.

Would only make sense of the re-birth of D-X, at least from my standpoint, thats all WWE can do at this moment. HHH is susposed to return early August (when he\'s cleared to wrestle again), and you got Shawn Michaels, and X-pac (who is, by a leave of personal absence, ahah, what a joke).

Watch management fued play the story line, no need for staff writers. I think WWE just injected themselves with their own death drug. We\'ll see what Bischoff has in store.

I\'d like to see what Eiksirf thinks, I always love his analysis.. :D

I have never liked the guy (Bischoff not Eiksirf :) ) and I don\'t think he can do any good in the WWE.  The only good thing about this situation is that all the dumb ideas he has will be shot down by JR and Vince.

I too was surprised to see bichoff walk past booker T during his interview.......I was saying out loud.....there is no way...........he must be brining back the nwo...........I guess not........he is the new GM.........I think Smackdowns will be Steph (that is the only way Story-wide it would work to have HHH go from Smackdown to Raw). OR have shane as the GM for Smackdown and have a feud between them since Shane (story-Wise) bought WCW. or on a loooong shot Mick Foley.

Raw surprised the hell out of me last night. I was just expecting a normal boring RAW but all this happened!

I don\'t think Steph would be the second GM because Vince said the two men would give us what we deserve, unless Vince was calling his own daughter a man! .Shane probably won\'t be the second either because Vince was the one who hired the GM, and he hates Shane, but he also hated Eric so who knows?

Do you guys have any guess who it could be? I think it\'s Stone Cold but that\'s only because I want him back.:D I just hope it\'s not Mick because I officially hated him all those times he came back with a "contract."

Also did you see that segment with Booker T?!?! That was really funny when he asked coach "You sure you black, Dog?" and the Coach-or-roonie! It\'s was classic!

If Goldberg does indeed come back ( I heard him and Bischoff were good friends) then there could be a Brock vs Goldberg match!

I think Rock should stay on Smackdown because it\'s "his" show after all. It will be interesting to see how he handles Eric though.;)

In short I enjoyed RAW and plan to enjoy Smackdown this Thursday.:D
Man.. if BookerT lit a fart during a Spinner-oony.. it truely would be the most electrifying move ever..

they need to bring back the best heel in the GAME, HHH.  When he comes back he better take over the top heel spot, like he used to.  He was an amazing "bad guy", the WWE is also missing something important, a clear cut number one face.  I think the Rock or RVD will fill that spot, but they need a true top heel, and face to fued.  These 1 month fueds are incredibly dumb, and are getting OLD.  I think they need a clasic wwF type of fued between the two top names in the fed, that lasts over multiple ppvs.

I saw Bischoff coming a mile away. No real surprise.

The nWo is dead, yes. X-Pac is like a hairs width from either quitting or being fired because he keeps worming his way outta matches. This is from a rumor site, so I dunno if its true or not.

Nash will be out for a LONG time, almost as long as HHH.

Shawn Michaels can\'t wrestle anymore. And that leaves the Big Show, who can\'t really make up the nWo by himself. So it was decided to just kill the group. I\'m glad they did because the WWE ruined them big time.
I really don\'t see Austin coming back, but with the hiring of EB, one can only wonder if the WWE will forgive SC.
The fire still burns...

My buddy said HBK said some stuff about getting back in the ring on his Confidential interview; I didn\'t get to see it though.

I don\'t think we\'ll ever see Steph or Foley again.  Reason:  Steph said she would "leave the WWF forever".  Foley had his little scene with Vince where he said he was done.

Well let me start off by saying Stone Cold is a bitch.

Aside from becoming really stale after the What thing turned annoying, I like my wrestlers to worry about entertaining me.  Stone Cold didn\'t do that.  He didn\'t worry about the fans when he refused to work Jeff Jarrett.  He didn\'t worry about the fans when he left after Wrestlemania.  He didn\'t worry about the fans when he walked out on Raw.

He\'s an ass, and until his attitude changes, he\'ll stay that way.

But for Raw, I think Bischoff is going to be fun.  Not so much that it\'s Bischoff, although that certainly adds a lot of spice to it for long-time fans, but because with new "general managers" it once again separates the two brands.  Having Bischoff trying to buy out other guys further seperates the brands, while even opening the door to trades and things like that.

Make the tag belts cross-brand and all will be well as far as structure goes.  Face it, with Eddy/Benoit, Hardys, Bubba/Spike, Booker/Goldust, and Big Show/X-Pac all already or quickly becoming established tag teams, and Smackdown only really having Chuck/Billy, it doesn\'t make sense to keep the titles floating around Smackdown.

The next big thing (no, not Lesnar) is who will be the GM of Smackdown.  Right now, my money is on Mick Foley unless they somehow put Shane into the role for the Bischoff vs Shane thing, but after Raw, that wouldn\'t make any sense (and rightfully so for once, since Vince actually remembered that he\'s supposed to hate Shane).

But yea, if they do stuff with Bischoff like they did with Bradshaw and Big Show last night, this is going to be a lot of fun.  Bradshaw was great with his two GM encounters.

The only question is whether the writing team can keep the momentum going and generate some interesting stories.  Personally, I think they can.  I\'ve been enjoying things like Brock, RVD, Undertaker, Jeff, Dreamer (and Richards), and team Canada.

BTW, I\'m hoping RVD retains his belt at Vengeance.  He deserves it, and it\'d be a surprise to see Brock lose despite his upcoming title shot.  Could keep the door open to continue their feud over several PPVs like someone else wanted.

Plus, after Raw I\'m pretty interested in Taker/Lesnar at Summerslam, especially since it means keeping the belt on Taker that much longer.  They already passed it around like like five times this year.

Anyway, that\'s enough from me.

I\'m curious about whether they\'ll give the title to Brock as well.  The only way I could see him winning the title was if they wanted to promote RVD up into the World Champion ranks.
