Ah yes, go football debates. I decided to reply to TOBG\'s post.
Let the fun begin.
AFC EAST: New England - Although Miami has powerful weapons, as usual they will go into the season the heavied favorite. Dolphins are over-rated every year. This year will be no different. NE retains most of the same team w/ the exception of Bledsoe, who will bring Buffalo from a crappy team to a mediocre team at best. Look for New England to enter the play-offs again, maybe won\'t be champs, but definite contenders. New England will have a tougher schedual this year, but like last year, they will show they can step up to even an unstoppable team.
Miami DESERVES to be the heavy favorite. They picked up the missing link. NE had a break out season. The harder schedule, and with the teams out to get them, they\'ll probably finish around 9-7.
AFC NORTH: Pittsburg - I\'m liking Pittsburg again this year. Reason, they will be aware that they are not the unstoppable team they think they are and put more effort into the game. They\'ve got the weapons, and they\'ve got the defense, they just gotta perform. Baltimore might stick it\'s head out and prove to be a challenge, but a challenge at best. Cincinattie and Cleveland look pitiful this year, both will be sub .500 teams.
Cleveland looks pitiful? They started great last season, and can only get better. Baltimore will be shit. They lost virtually all the key parts. They\'re lucky they have Cincy in their division so they don\'t have to finish last.
AFC SOUTH: Tennesse - This team had a building year last year, with it\'s ups and downs. But they seem to be good overall this year. Indy with the acquisition of Dungy may prove to be contenders, but I see them more in the wild card spot, losing yet another first round playoff game. Manning is powerful, but like Miami, heavely overated every year. Houston being an expansion team will take a few years to build, but might have some memorable first season games. Jacksonville... they threw in the towel before the expansion draft.
The Colts, like the Dolphins, could have quite possibly picked up the missing link. Dungy will help out their bad defense, and they certainly have the weapons on offense. Tennessee has a solid defense, and a shaky offense. So if anything, it\'ll probably be the Titans losing in the 1st round.
AFC WEST: San Diego - A lot of people seem to like Oakland, I like SD, and I\'ll tell you why. They were 4-1 beginning last year until bad coaching got the worst of them. This year new coaching, improved offense and lighter schedual will push San Diego to the top. SD and Oakland will both contend for number one. Oakland is gonna be a play-off team but for how long, Gannon is getting old, he can\'t take hits like he used to. Rice is getting old, Oakland is an old team, maybe not bad, but that\'s bad for the future. Maybe they are too old. I don\'t expect anything out of KC or Denver.
San Diego\'s first 3 wins came against Washington, Dallas, and Cincy. 3 bad teams last year. And KC doing nothing? Look what Jamas said up there. Go Chiefs.
NFC EAST: Washington - This is my immediate disagrement with the first post. Spurrier, one of the greatest college coaches knows what it takes to win. I said the second Spurrier was added Washington will be a good team, the players have been improved, O and D IMPROVED. Were looking at astronomical numbers here. Philly will indeed be the thorn in washington\'s side but only to a degree. NY, hate to say it, but the are between a rock and a hard place, harder teams, no more fifth place scheduals, were looking at another sad season.
Phily almost beats the Rams in the NFC Championship game, makes virtually no changes, McNabb should only get better, and you have them at a thorn in the Redskins side. Explain, please.
