And you can\'t use that speed if you can\'t keep the ball in your hands :)

See Yuz.
What do Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and Carlos Zambrano have in common?

They\'re the pieces to the next great pitching rotation of our time, what else?

GO CUBS!

You can\'t use that speed if you have no one to get the ball in his hands.

McMahon had a few good games when the Lions had nothing to lose anyways, hell any QB can play well when there isn\'t any pressure at all. And you can\'t depend on a rookie to do much, especially one that enters an environment such as Detroit (ala Tim Couch)

My prediction: Detroit - 5-11, 6-10

Yes, good enough. And I doubt McMahon will be a star. He might be a decent QB someday, but a star is pushing it.

I\'ll call it a good year for Detroit if they win at least 4.

Nah, last year they lost alot of close games. They might pull some of those out this year.

Hey, it wasn\'t the Lions offense that was so incredibly horrible last year, it was their defense.  If that shows up this year, they\'re a decent team.

Hmm... interesting... lets look at Detroits schedule:

@ Miami : Williams debut, Williams runs easily 100+ yards. Lions lose. (0-1)

@ Carolina : We\'ll see maybe 7 turnovers. Lions will win. Lions fans will be screaming, "Playoffs!". (1-1)

Green Bay: The Lions have their first game home, against the Packers. Lions may keep it close in the first quarter, and then Favre will turn the heat on. Lions lose. (1-2)

New Orleans : Lions seem to struggle against recieving RB\'s, so McCallister will tear them up. Lions lose. (1-3)

@ Minnesota : Lions beat the Viks last year, however the Viks have made many more significant changes than the Lions have. Viks unleash payback. Lions lose. (1-4)

Chicago : Bears defense will pummel the Lions. James Stewarts rushing yards will be in the single digits. Lions lose. (1-5)

@ Buffalo : Lions seem to have their hot streak on the road, however still a little shaken up and sore from that Bears game. Lions lose. (1-6)

Dallas : Hmm... Thanksgiving teams... ZZZzzzz... Lions win. Lions fans still hinting towards the playoffs. (2-6)

@ Green Bay : No hope. Mmm... Cheese. Lions lose. (2-7)

New York Jets : Lions realize playoffs aren\'t a possibility once again, have nothing to lose. Lions win. (3-7)

@ Chicago : Go into the game extremely intimidated, get thrashed. Look for a concussion on whoever the Lions QB may be at the time. Lions lose miserably. (3-8)

New England : Lions pull of a huge upset and Lions fans will only boast about beating the former Superbowl Champs for months to come. Lions win. (4-8)

@ Arizona : Cardinals are fighting for a playoff spot, not gonna be stopped by the Lions. Lions lose. (4-9)

Tampa Bay : Bucs, like the Cards fighting for playoffs, not gonna be stopped by the Lions. Lions lose. (4-10)

@ Atlanta : Two teams who have nothing to play for. Falcons win, only because they have prettier jersies. Lions lose. (4-11)

Minnesota : Viks have clinched a playoff spot, and send in their 2nd string offense to play. Lions still lose. (4-12)

;)

Really, I can\'t predict game by game, too early. But a brief glimpse at this schedule will display alot of tough games. I\'m setting the Lions, Panthers, and Bills as the worst teams in the NFL this upcoming season.

You have them beating both the Jets and the Pats?  Not gonna happen.  Not a chance.  I could see them beat a few other teams on that schedule though.  The Falcons, the Cards, perhaps the Vikes again.

And I think the Lions have made more significant changes than the Vikes.  I don\'t think they beat the cowboys either, who are developing into a really good defensive team.  Anyone who knows my view on football knows that I firmly believe that defense wins ballgames.

Oh.. they\'re offense was baaaaaaaaaaaaaad. Charlie Batch was awful with a QB rating of 76.8 (McMahon\'s even lower) and a TD-INT ratio of 1:1. James Stewart did average 4.8 yards per carry, however he only reached the endzone once.

They had the 8th ranked offense of the 16 NFC teams, ranking ahead of the Eagles, Bears, and Bucs, which are all very solid teams.  Their defense ranked 12th, only better than the Panthers, Vikings, Cards, and Falcons.
