I agree that the Skins will be pretty formidable this year. Their D will be among the top in the league, the only week spot they have on defense is an aging green, and semi-week d-line. Both of which if exposed, could spell disaster, if playing against a qb who could pick them apart if given time (Garcia, Warner, Manning)
Offense is a toss up. No one knows if the fun and gun can translate into the pro game. One thing is for sure, if Spurrier does well with the fun and gun, every defensive coordinator will lock onto it and do everything they can to disect it. So Spurrier will have a year at most until he has to re-tool the offense.
Also, they may have problems controlling the ball. Since they will be relying on the pass heavily, it could lead to many 3 and outs. Some would argue with me that with Davis in the back field this won\'t happen. But knowing Spurrier, the second Davis starts to get stuffed, Spurrier will abandone the running game. This will mean that the D will spend alot more time on the field and Bruce Smith, Darell Green, Jessie Armsted and Dan Wilkinson won\'t be happy if they\'re out there for 40+ minutes a game.
Eve though a team with a solid defense, and and offense that can control the ball, will give Spurriers Redskins fits, I think they could be a surprise wild card team.
