Have you ever had trouble calling the police?
« on: July 17, 2002, 03:58:27 PM »
Supposed to be a true story, but I dunno.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A man was going up to bed when his wife told him that he\'d left the light on
in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. He opened
the back door to go turnoff the light but saw that there were people in the
shed stealing things. He phoned the police, who asked, "Is someone in your
house?" and he said no.

Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock
his door and an officer would be along when available.

The man said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.
"Hello. I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in my
shed. Well, you don\'t have to worry about them now, cause I\'ve just shot
them all." Then he hung up.

Within five minutes three police cars, and Armed Response unit, and an
ambulance showed up at the residence.

Of course, the police caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the policemen said to the homeowner: "I thought you said that you\'d
shot them!"

The homeowner replied, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

:)
The fire still burns...

Sort of...outside the office building were I work there was a collision.  Someone came in and told me to call the police, so I did.  I phoned the police and told them about it, gave the buildings address and a description of the cars and what had happened.  The dispatcher asked me where in the parking lot it had happened.  I wasn\'t sure, she said to "call back when you have an accurate explanation of where and what has happened"...then she hung up on me!

By the time I got the info and called back, both cars had left the scene.

Our cops get so bored that any kind of call, too much noise for an example would make a cop\'s day.

I hear ya man..

One time I had borrowed a shovel from my neighbor.  I thought I was being nice in returning it after I was done so I helped myself over to his shed.  I stubbed my toe on his freaking lawn mower. I was kind of stuck there in pain and like 7 minutes later a bunch of freakin cops arrested me for murder...  I got out of it though.  I mean, how can a tomato commit murder.

No, but I was in an accident once and called 911 and tried to get them to dispatch some police to help me, well then they turned around and gave me the number to the sheriff office, I thought this was there jobs to let them know not for me to have to call, and then i had to turn around and call the local police cuz the sherriffs couldnt call them, it would of been alot nicer for them to call the local cops, it took like 15 minutes for a cop to show up, i thought that was what 911 was for, that kinda pissed me off, that i had to go through all that trouble to get a cop.

yea, once i was being stabbed to death and i couldn\'t reach a phone.. That was giving me trouble.

But the short truth is.. no, no i haven\'t had any problems calling police. Infact. One time they came to my place because a neighbour complained about the noise.. we were having a party. They didn\'t see anything wrong with the noise and asked if they could come back after there shift.. we said sure..  and Sure enough 2 hours later they rock up with a keg of piss... Ahh that was a funny night.
