I don\'t get how people can be against the Brand Extension.
First benefit was the new guys. Lesnar, anyone? John Cena, Batista, Randy Orton, Chris Nowinski, and my new favorite wrestler, Jackie Gayda. They would be no where without the extension.
And the cruiserweights. Kidman, Chavo, Knoble (Nidia), and soon Rey Jr. wouldn\'t have a place in the old system.
Then there\'s the mid-card that\'s resurfaced. OK, so we get guys like Mark Henry and Val Venis who haven\'t been very fun yet, but what about Tommy Dreamer, Lance Storm and his group, Stevie Richards, Bradshaw, Spike Dudley, Jeff Hardy, and the others.
The brand extension is giving these guys a place. That\'s another reason I\'m glad Stone Cold is gone. His thirty minute what-a-thons are being replaced with kendo stick matches, ladder matches, and mixed-tag matches featuring Jackie Gayda!
Come on.
Oh, and while I might have to warm up to the idea of Smackdown\'s GM, I like that these GM\'s have firmly established the idea of competing brands (something McMahon/Flair just flirted with). This is going to make for good tv, just like with the old Monday night wars.
I wonder if Bischoff will try to trade Jackie Gayda for the Rock?
