Looks very nice tho. If only they had the game support Windows (ugh) does.

Redhat 7.3

any Id game (quake 2, Quake 3, RTCW) and most games that use its engines (SOF 1 and 2, Jedi Knight 2) and Unreal and Unreal Tournament wun perfectly fine under linux

although i wish more devs would support linux, doom 3 will come to linux and thats all that matters

I like how KDE has become so much more mature in recent years, I used to run Red Hat 5 and 6, but rarely used that partition so I went to a Windows only drive. But lately I\'ve been getting the urge to run a different OS

it detected all my hardware just like windows would, so no problems there

not a single hiccup since i really started playing around with it

everything is open source in linux

there\'s no hidden source code, no registry, no m$ proprietary bullshit

support for all games is the only thing holding me back from switching over entirely

linux = open source Operating System

kinda like windows but ummmm, free and without the arcane licensing tactics

you can just download the disk images, install, and boom ya got an OS

but its NOT for noobs
its not like you can download any little program off the internet and install it.  basically everything has to be done manually.  but linux becomes more and more automated everyday as more and more people install it and perfect the source code

I had a Linux box running for a while... but I got tired of it and switched back to Windows. :(

It\'s cool though if you want to discover a whole new world of geekness. :)

Now that i got everything switched over to my new system, I\'m going to take my old computer and pop Linux Mandrake 6.5 on it temporarilly so that I can learn the in\'s and out\'s of it. Then I figure later on when I get a new system and a good PC emulator for playing Dos games on Win2k comes out (I expecially like the fact that under emulation you don\'t get runtime errors! :D ) I\'ll set my system up as a dual boot between Win2k and whatever newer version of Linux I can get my hands on.

BTW: MM, you need to change that "Trash" icon from a Trashcan to a Windows Logo. :p

Welcome to the club, mm.

The only thing I don\'t like about konq is that is sometimes plays the .gif avatars of the people here on the forums very fast and eats up cpu.

On a side note, if you haven\'t you should install gkrellm, it rocks.  Add the IceWalkers tab to Mozilla, and download lbreakout2.
