the moon stops the earth from spinning like crazy (with spinning, I mean the vertical spinning, that causes seasons, like summer and winter), which would cause severe temperature differences, fatal to almost all living things on earth. It\'s kinda hard for me to explain, but I hope you know what I mean.

I seriously doubt that is true.

The earths spinning causes day and night.  Its rotation around the sun causes season change.

Cool fact: We are actually farther from the sun during the summer months.  Its the angle at which sunlight enters out atmosphere that causes the heat

please note, that I said vertical spinning, not horizontal. Horizontal spinning is what causes day and night, vertical spinning causes seasoning, because of this vertical spinning the distance light has to travel through the atmosphere changes, because the angle it falls into it changes, because of the moons gravity this spinning is reduced to an amount living creatures can bare
