Pretty cool story on laser weapons they are developing for fighter jets.  Side effect is that some light either defracted off the target or an errant strike could cause blindness in humans....

they should have people who are already blind, fly the missions.

Also, they already have laser weapons for use in "crowd control", they have been outlawed in several nations.

WHY?? Because they cause temporary blindness--- as their purpose to control crowds. Could you imagine a crowd of 1000\'s all being blinded at once??

Anyway, it\'s been found that sometimes the loss of sight is PERMANENT:eek:

Also, short of a total opaque covering over your eye\'s NOTHING can stop you from being blinded, AND you can even be hit from the side... Scary.
