Now lets look at the online picture some more....
This game is friendly for you 56k sufferers:
According to Madden NFL producer Jeremy Strauser, both broadband and dial-up connections work very well for online play.
"Both broadband and a telephone line connection play great," Strauser said. "Broadband will, of course, be a little smoother experience, but there is very little noticeable dropoff when you move to a telephone connection. Gamers will be surpised at how seamless the play is."
"We\'re really stoked about being able to deliver on an online experience," Lam said. "We want it to be a fun experience... and we want people to want to do it. We think the experience that we are going to deliver is going to do exactly that.
"The one big feature that is going to be available only to online users are the roster updates," Lam continued. "Between trades, free agent signings, and if some of the rookies haven\'t signed contracts at the time of the game launch, we\'re going to be able to update your rosters throughout the season."
*An internet connection, a network adaptor and memory card are required for online gameplay. Online gameplay server will be available only through August 31, 2003. Use subject to the Online Agreement. All features may not be available at the time of purchase. Please check the online feature in game and the Online Agreement for more information.
Some screenshots of the online experience:

The online feature is easily accessible from game modes in the main menu.

After setting up the network adaptor and ISP information, a simple registration to the Madden NFL 2003 Online server is required.

Anything from playing games to changing settings can be done from the online menu.

Keep rosters up-to-date with the latest in injuries, transactions, depth chart changes, and more by downloading a new roster file on a regular basis from the roster update feature.
