Wipeout Fusion! GRRRR!
« on: July 26, 2002, 09:32:11 PM »
GYAD DANGIT! How in blazes am I gonna keep off the walls when none of my damn ships can make the turn? Eh?

Even the Piranha ship can\'t take the tightest corners without getting banged around like a pin ball! I\'m using the air brakes but they sometimes actually propell me faster into teh wall!

I\'ve finished all the leagues. I got all the ships. I got all the tracks. Is there anything else?

The challenge is a joke. Some are fun...most are next to impossible. Especially the ones where I gotta kill 5 ships and my weapons merely knock the dust off of them.

But it was a fun game. Amazing tracks....especially Florion Heights - Course 3 normal and reverse! WOOT!

Yeah, the Piranha is a bitch to handle. When I got it first, I barely made it into to the finish line because the shield is so damn week compared to its speed. However, with time, I have learnt the courses by heart and therefore know exactly when to break. You wil get around in due time if you keep practicing... :)

THat sounds so exciting...it\'s bringing back memories of WipEout 64, I had it down to an art.

I\'ll have to get this one soon.

I guess I\'m alone on this one also, but Wipeout:Fusion just did not capture the Wipeout feel for me. To be fair, I had been looking forward to the game for so long that nothing could of lived up to my expectations..Still, I have valid complaints. Ship design seemed "off", track design wasn\'t as interesting and the music was just not nearly as cool - although it was still pretty darn good.

I can see how some people would dig the game, but for me it just didn\'t do it.

I\'ve seen very little slow downs in this game. And I\'ve played it a lot so far. There have been as many as 8 ships on screen firing weapons at each other and only then it dropped a few frames but not by much.

The only thing that bugs me is the collision detection was not fixed.  A quake or gravity bomb could send me into another part of the track or even through a mountain side. In fact, I think some of the mountains sides have no physical boundaries other than a facade.

wipeout fusion rocks

love the game

learning the courses in a necessity to great success

I think the tracks should be wider to allow you to flow better and gain a better sense of feel for the speed.

I too bounce off lots of walls even with many laps around the track

my only gripe with the game is the ship designs and usually the second course in each region. I just hate those obsticles. While it was fun in Florian Hights and the stage with the forrest, the cave and some other\'s are just a pain in the a$$.

Got to love the other courses though and the jungle track must be one of the most beautifully designed ones, ever. The music absolutely rocks and the AI is top notch too. I am very glad that this game is so damn hard - because it\'s actually a challenge. I know most people don\'t like the game because it\'s just too hard, but IMO practise and learning these courses is what makes this game gold.

Are you good enough? Are you?

The music is the best in the series IMO, although I would have loved more progrssive house tracks and some REAL techno.

Haven\'t tried that one yet. I might cheat and just move at 50kph and never touch the walls. ;)

haha, that won\'t work - the game is locked, once you use cheats, you can\'t save and I believe you can\'t play ZoneMode.

Other than that, it would be lame. I hold a respectable 181th rank at the moment (moved down from rank 31) and 7th in Switzerland (Zone 1). As I see though, no one in the US comes close to that score (although there\'s only one in there yet).

EDIT: WOOHOO, 1000th Post!!!!

That\'s not really cheating. I\'m just moving slow!

ahjhhh now I get it. No, can\'t do that in Zone Mod... the ship goes faster and faster. You can\'t use your brakes either. I just set a new record. Now, I am ranked 6th in Switzerland, while 154th International in Zone Area 1 (Florian Height).

  • Rank 154 - 1186342507 Points - Zone Area 1
