The Ultimate Child Punishment

This is my mother\'s idea and it\'s a very brilliant idea, so if you share it with anyone, please give credit where credit is due.

My mom\'s friend has a child who is incredibly unrespectful and full of spite.  She\'s about 12 years old and she hits her little sister (5 years old), snaps other girls bras at school so hard that they break, breaks tables by flipping them over and throws rocks at passing cars.  Just about any punishment, standing in the corner, going to your room, being hit on the hands or on the butt just doesn\'t seem to work.  Recently, she\'s added the 9-1-1 number to her repoitoire and she calls it whenever her parents hit her on the butt for doing something she shouldn\'t be doing.

Eventually, the next step for this kid is juvenile hall and she\'ll really learn what being in trouble is all about, but until then, how can a parent change their child enough to where they can actually stop that sort of behavior?  

There\'s a simple solution to it all and this requires two pieces of scotch or transparent tape and for the child to wear form fitting pants with pockets.  First, tell the child, after they have caused trouble, to place their hands in their pockets to where their hands are not visible in any way.  It\'s best if the pants are slightly tight.  Then, take the two small strips of tape and tape over the pants and onto the wrist.  If the child moves their hands, the tape will break and the tape will have to be reapplied and more time will be spent in that uncomfortable and embarrassing position because there\'s no way the child can reapply it after the seal has been broken and they move the other hand to fix it, effectively breaking the other seal.  It\'s painless, but it takes away the freedom the child has to inflict harm or get themselves into trouble.  It also eliminates any trouble with the police since you are not harming them.

Anyways, my mom\'s friend tried the punishment today and this little rugrat complied with every order after only a short time in that ridiculous position.  Idle hands are the tool of the devil so take those little buggers away and you are left with one pissed off yet compliant child.  

Is that really gonna work with kids that would just take the tape off and tell thier parents 2 **** off, and continue to do all the stuff they did in the first place??

gotta agree with ps2, if the kid doesn\'t listen now, will tape stop them??  They know they\'re doing wrong to start with, and they aren\'t affraid of punishment.  This idea is more of a way to keep tabs on the kid, rather than a punishment.

Tape isn\'t the solution, zip ties are, make them stick there hands in there pockets and then put a zip tie through the belt loops and then pull tight so the kid cant move his arms, and cut off when kid complys with orders for that day!!!

It might work in some cases but for the most part, it sucks donkey balls.

What my mom used to do to keep my youngest sister from running around and wreaking havoc during dinner was take a chair with a back to it, and seat belt her with a belt.  Annoyed her to bits!!!

My mom always threatened to send me outside naked when I was being bad. She used humiliation as a tool. Oh, with an occasional broom to the head.

Parents have to start discipline early and establish who\'s the boss. I\'m sick of this pussy generation of parents that aren\'t doing shit.

seriously....i am 16...not to old...but even i got "punished"  What in the hell is go to your room going to teach a kid.  

The father.....or mother even....should whip out that belt and make the kids rear turn into a black and blue stump.

i wish the parents could do that, but if they did then its "child abuse" and they\'ll probably end up in jail.

My mother was a frim beliver in the "switch". For those who do live in wooded area\'s, the "switch" is a limb off a tree that hurts like a mofo when it hits your skin. To add to the punishment, you make the child go and pick the "switch" off himself. It just adds a complete sense of dread, as the child looks at each tree, each brand and decides which one to tear off, knowing that it is goin\' to hit his legs and butt quite a few times.

As you can tell, I got the "switch" more than  my fair share.

All you guys that were beat as children seem to have turned out fine. :rolleyes:

When I was young my mom used to handcuff me. That did the trick!
