chizzy\'s big weekend...

wow... this weekend I am going camping in the Adirondack mountains... (upstate new york, sorta near montreal, ca...).
It\'s a big drunkfest / foodfest I go to every year in Cranberry Lake NY..... then saturday I come home at night, wake up sunday to rehearse with my band, then play a free outdoor gig here in downtown Buffalo opening for a band called sloan. (they\'re a pretty big canadian band, so there will probably be about 5000 peeps showing up for it.)

I\'ve seen Sloan a couple of times in the last few years, and I must say that they put on a decent live show. Not a huge fan of their latest, but "Navy Blues" will always be one of my favs. From what I gather they are fairly laid-back, don\'t take things too seriously, and fairly down-to-earth, regardless of what you think of thier tunes.

this is the third time I\'ve played with them in 10 years....

1992- the legendary Continental club... (I was 18 and they almost didn\'t let me in to play - 21 & over only....)

1997- edgefest3 w/ goo goo dolls, weezer, sloan, moist, etc...

I am stoked.......  and a little nervous....:eek:

well, the goo\'s.... what can I say? I used to drink with robbie goo on thursday nites when he was a dj at mr. goodbar in buffalo (10 years ago) I don\'t like their music, but I give them credit for making it big....

hey, I\'ve been too busy to update this since it happened, so I will do it now for all who care. (both of you....)

well camping was a blast -got wasted so many times I lost count. though attempting the rapids in an old 14\' canoue (hey I only know how to paddle one, not spell it!) while drunk, stoned and on mushrooms was a bad idea. We tipped it after being wedged between some huge rocks and I got trapped underwater by the current for about 15 seconds before breaking free and being thrown down the river, hitting every sharp rock along the way. I thought I was a goner.

Then I left on sunday the 4th @ 5:00 Am for  Home ( a six hour drive) showered, rehearsed, and packed it up for the show. The stage was huge, They blocked off 2 blocks of the bar district downtown and about 4000 peeps showed up. (since we opened, we played in front of 500 or so, but it still rocked!) got drunk on free beer and had a blast. We picked up our new shirts before we left and sold most of them, gave a ton away.
anyway- I should be posting here more often- I am staying home a lot now saving money for new wheels.....
