So about two hours ago, one of my friends is over, like most of my friends he\'s the typical jock type, doesn\'t play games, Is more into sports and games, and you know stuff!

Not into games at all.

But his perception of gamers, and as well as a lot of ppl I know, girls, guys alike, is that a gamer has "long hair", "never showers", "has no life"

I for one hate when people say that, because they see people talking about games in places and shit, but they see them as being nerdy!

Then I tell them, "but I play games", and they reply with "but no, your cool, and your an exception"

Then I look at the "post your pic" thread that we have here, and from what I see, I don\'t see gamers as being nerdy or long haired freaks that dont take showers, we\'ll except soulgrind....;)

Has anyone else ever experienced this?, I mean after all were not nerdy star trek fans! are we!? ;)

That is the perception of a hardcore gamer, and thats way before they became so mainstream.

To tell you the truth, I don\'t exactly play games all that often. I wouldn\'t even call myself a gamer. Just someone who enjoys the odd bash or two at GT with some friends. Its not that deep.

Showers. ALWAYS, there\'s no excuse for letting your personal hygene go.

That comment is something that I can associate with, maybe for different reasons, but I CAN associate with it.

My hair tends to look as though I have just been given a massive electric shock. I have to wet my hair before I brush it, just so that it will stick down.
