Anybody ever tack their car to the track?

yeah a 13 second street car is unimaginable fun, and lucky for you, you\'re easing into it, so that you don\'t have to instantly have to get used to driving a high powered machine.

I unfortunetly had a bad experience when I started my mods.  Within about 2 weeks I went from a mid 15 second car to a low to mid 13 second car.  And only 2 times during my mods did I drive it hard, both times at the track.  After I had my mods finished up, I went to the parts house to drool over things I would like to buy, and on my way there I was going through a stop light and it started to change.  So I just womped on the gas like I normally would, but instead of the car speeding up a bit, it spun the tires and the torque steer almost launched me into the curb.  Luckily I was paying enough attention to correct myself and not wreck.  After that, I relized that I should get to know my vehicle a bit more, and get used to it before I killed myself.

Good points theomen!

I\'ve come close a couple of times doing something I wished I had not. It\'s very tempting to let it loose sometimes. The only problem is getting killed or worse, killing an innocent.

I try to keep at the track, but it\'s so damn hard. :)

I know what you\'re talking about.  When I see a Honda Civic with a big ass spoiler and a 3" down pipe I really have to stop myself from blowing their doors off.

Yes, I have the same feeling, but is there a more noble cause?

My car is not that fast to be running in the 13\'s yet or even beating Mustangs, but my car can hold its own. I drive a 2k2 Acura Rsx type-S.:)
Keep it sideways......Initial D style!!!

mustangs arent much to worry about..untill money is spent on them..even still..pretty easy to tear a lightly modded stang a new one.

I\'m with luckee on this one, I have never gotten much of a challenge from a Mustang.  I also don\'t know why people buy Mustangs, Camaros are a far superior performer for the money.  With basic HP and torque numbers a base Camaro=Mustang GT.  And imo the stylings really don\'t differ enough to go for the Mustang.

Anyways, about the only car that\'s gotten close to beating me on the track was a squeezed Prelude.  I didn\'t know what the hell he had, and still all I know is that he had Nitrous....or as many of you out there might say, NOS...but he was pretty quick.

Don\'t get me wrong when I say I haven\'t been beaten, there are deffinetly faster cars out there, I just pick my battles wisely :D  I\'m not gonna race someone who has a blown 427 in a CRX.

Yes the Mustang GT needs work and money to be as fast as a lot of us would like them to be, but I think style wise there\'re a pretty car. I also have the added benefit of dropping the top on a nice day.

Mustangs have a cool heritage that people dig. That\'s why people buy them. At least that\'s what I think.

I just don\'t get the guys who overdo the body kits/decals, etc.(pretty damn ugly in most cases) with nothing under the hood.

Take a look at the new 03 Cobra. It\'s a beauty and anyone who likes cars should be drooling when the hood is open.
