My Crappy Life / I\'m Going For A While......

Well, everything was goin great. Earning loads of money in my summer job, met loads of athletes etc, things were going great with my girlfriend and I had a great birthday last sunday. Since then, my gf, Helen has been acting really wierd. I kept asking her what the problem was, she replied nothing. Anyway, on Wed night, she was moaning about having no money, so I told her to take back my birthday present which cost £110. She says \'No, I wanted to spend more to show you how much I love you, but there is nothing I can buy that can show you how much....\'. Obviously that made me pretty happy, and I stayed at hers that night.

Thursday morning. We get up, she is in a stranger mood, says she loves me etc, plans to see me at night, but Ican tell somethins wrong. After she dropped me home, I txt her demanding to know whats up. 4 hours later she replies saying we arent workin and she doesnt want to be in a relationship :eek: I was shocked. So, last night I spoke to her in the pub, I was pretty hammered, but she basically says she doesnt want a relationship at the moment as she is going off to uni. Last year, she went to uni with a bf, he messed her about and she had to quit and basically is scared of it happening again.

How the hell do I prove to her that I\'m not gonna do that?? I\'m at uni too, so know what it\'ll be like. She says she loves me, and things between us are so much better than she has had in previous relationships. As for her saying we arent workin, dunno where thats from, we never argue, we always get on so well.

Basically, I\'m pretty much devastated. Had to take the day off today because I just couldnt face work because I feel so down. I just feel as if I have nobody to turn to now. Anyway, I\'m fairly optimistic we will sort things out, I just hate this waiting, not knowing whats going on. This leads me to say that as I\'m pretty busy at the mo, and hate 56K, I shall be leaving the boards for the next 4weeks, probably till I get back to uni. I\'ll pop in and out over the weekend, and will be back properly in september. Catch you guys later.

Yeah that\'s what I was thinking too... But yeah, she could be telling the truth.

Men will never understand women. A womens mind is best left unexplored.

She might need one less thing to worry about while she\'s at uni.  It might not mean that she doesn\'t want to be with you anymore; it could mean that she needs to sort out her priorities.

What you can do to ensure a future with her is to tell her that although you aren\'t seeing each other for the moment, you\'ll be there for any emotional or mental support (being uni and all).  Tell her that if she needs someone to talk to other than girl friends you\'ll be there for her.  And tell her that you can hope for the same favor.

Thanks Rya, that seems like a good idea. I\'ve spoke to her today and she assures me that there is nobody else, and that she doesnt want to meet anybody else. She just wants to be on her own, and have me there as a friend, which I will do for her. I just hope it all works out. She also says there will be a future for us, she just doesnt know when. God, I wish my friends were this usefull, rather than just \'get over it, plenty more fish in the sea etc etc\'. They just cant see how a feel for her, still, I\'m sure only the right thing will happen

all i can say is your young, and if you and her are gonna be together eventually you will.

try not to freak out too much, life ALWAYS works itself out.

how far away are each of your uni from each other???? dont know how you can tell her you wont do anything, its a hard one....


ive gone through some bad shit recentely, and honestly compared to the shit ive gone throught you got it easy.....



if you want her then tell her, andd ame sure she knows, even move out with her etc..... just do whatever it takes
