I (somehow) Fixed my PSX!

There... just a few more screws and I\'m done...

Hurrah!

Time to celebrate, the gray ol\' discspinnah is back in action! I thought I had lost him a long while ago... *snif* This is like a happy family reunion...

It ceased functioning after I had dropped it on a pretty merciless concrete floor from 2 meters when I was cleaning my army closet for the very last time. The second I got home, I tried it out : it just made a sad whirring sound and didn\'t do anything... so I neatly put it in its original packaging (you could be mistaken for thinking it was never opened) and threw (actually, "placed gently" would be more fitting) it under my bed.

A couple of days ago, I opened up some old busted PSX controllers, opened them and fixed whatever was wrong with them (fractured d-pads, some loose parts). Today, I decided to open up the PSX, thinking that I could do wonders. And it seems I can. I just opened it up, poked around a bit, dusted it off, connected some wires (the controller unit connection was a bit loose and I was initially a bit shocked to find out that any controllers wouldn\'t work) that had gotten a bit loose probably due to the impact 8 months ago, and plugged it in with a CD in the nekkid, coverless PSX. And boy was I surprised to see the motor work again. Quite the sturdy li\'l contraption, I really thought it\'d been busted for good.

IT\'S ALIVE! I had a good go at Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha, and the controller I\'d tampered with worked a dream too. Now this thing is actually worth something again. Thank me :D

Congtratulations; if you enjoyed that you could always buy some broken psones and try fixing them it\'s a worthwhile hobby.

Hehe congratulations on fix ing it,  I too had the motor go out,  not by dropping it but by it overheating I think,  It was broke for about 2 months before I finally got pyysical with the thing,  slapping the motor,  etc,  then miracly it started working again,  I did a back flip,  well half a back flip...

You fixed a dropped PSX?  Well mine was dropped but the problem is that it dont turn on,,, there is no power,  it was my second psx so .. i went to the pawn shop and bought another,  the 3rd

Check all my games? Rrriiiight... maybe I should hire someone to do it. There\'s quite a bunch of \'em you know. And I can\'t bother to care right now. I\'m playing FFX. My eyes are bleeding btw. Damned game.

The only game I need a PSX really for is MGS : Special Missions.
