I believe that those high quality screenshots that we have been fed are from either the PC version or the X-Box version.
I have seen PS2 footage before from a dvd, i think it was PSM here in the UK. so i was aware of the state of the game
but it didnt put me off from wanting the game. the demo that i\'ve played is very simlar.
It\'s a shame that there isn\'t a replay of the race when your finished in the demo as i could check it alongside
that old footage that i mentioned earlier. if they improve the framerate in the races then i cant ask for much more,
but the screenshots that are going around the net are definatley not those from the PS2 version.
There just too detailed and anybody who is honest enough with themselfs would have seen this a long way off.
There almost Pre-Render quality. imho the PS2 just cant cope with the geometry and texture resolution.
Take a look...

The texture resolution aswell as the overall Resolution is definatley not here in the PS2 version.
Look at them and check out the high detailed textures aswell as the slanted edges of objects.
A top end PC would even have trouble displaying such textures.
their either fabricated images or dev shots imho.
Just dont hope for visuals of this quality, or you definatley will be disapointed.
I just hope that the last 20% of the games creation is heavily based around code optimisations and tidying up
any loose ends in the graphics department. one thing that bothers me is that when the slowdown kicks in
is that the game physically slows down. it actualy takes longer to travel from point a-b when the slowdown kicks in.
as you can imagine, when you\'ve entered a corner at maximum attack then the game slows down, you loose all sense
of what the car is doing as the flow of speed is altered aswell as the response from the car.
but lets keep hope that that is on their top priority list.
There is aslo a NEW PC Demo available now but it\'s an iso file. you need to burn it onto a cd to play it.
it can be found at
http://www.bhmotorsports.com . apparently it\'s from a valvoline oil promotion. there distributing the demo
on the front of thier oil cans. i have played it and i have a decent enough rig.
AMD 1.333 Ghz
GF4 TI4200
512 DDR
yeah, it looks better but for some reason i still prefer the PS2 version. the speed blur that codemasters has added to
the PS2 version is absent on the PC demo and this makes a huge difference. also the game chuggs along unless you
change the graphics settings and turn them down (check my specs). Like i said,
for some reason i prefer the PS2 demo.
Mmmm... 12 more days...
Edit: Yep, i just played the PC Demo again and these shots are definatley more PC than PS2
