They would redo that.  If contraction happens, there is no way the Twins go.  And they would have to, and probably shouldn\'t combine teams.  Wouldn\'t be fair that way.  Instead, have a contraction draft.  All players from contracted teams are put in a draft pool and they are drafted by the other teams, with the worst team picking first.

Look back at the history of baseball.  Look at the early part of the century when players could really barely make ends meet and they were practically owned by the owners of the clubs.  Guess how often you had strikes back then...

Didn\'t the early baseball players have to have second real jobs to make money?

so you want teams gone but your not in favor of contraction?

im sorry man but the twins ARE one of the teams up for contraction, and you cant give one good reason why they shouldnt be. sure theyre drawing ok now, but theres waaaaaay more to being a sucessful franchise than having decent attendace.

and the twins need a new stadium, and minnesota WONT give em one.... thats kinda a problem.

All Bud Selig and the damn MLB care about is the Yankees.  They got mad b/c the underdog Diamondbacks kicked their candy-applered-asses in the series and then wanted to kick Arizona out of the MLB.

Bud Selig suck a fat pipe.  And by pipe I mean horse d1ck.
This is America and I can still pay for sex with pennies

I\'m for contraction, I\'m just against contracting the Twins.  I think there are much better teams to contract out there.  I\'m also not very strongly in favor of it or anything.  It would be good ideally, but I can see the bad points, and if it will help avoid a strike, I say don\'t do it.

Yeah, they did at times.  Hell, that was the situation that brought about the Black Sox scandal in 1919...players actually barely paid enough to get by risk their careers throwing the series for 10 grand each.

so your basically basing your choices on contraction by personal preferance... how do you know how people would react if the expos were contracted instead of the twins? and vise versa.

just stick to being a yankees fan... life is great isnt it?

The Expos WERE slated for contraction alongside the Twins.  There was a huge outcry from Minnesota, from the fans to the governor.  There was virtually nothing out of Montreal.  That\'s part of what I\'m basing that on.

And by the way, for the record, I\'m actually a Mets fan :p

well hahahah the mets suck!

the expos need to move, if they moved to a city that actually cared about baseball they would be fine.

as long as minnesota wont give the twins a  new stadium theyre screwed.
