if they strike baseball will be dead, especially so near 9-11, people will take it to heart.

I probably won\'t notice the difference.  Baseball is stupid.

I think it\'s sick how some players have multi million dollar contracts, and they don\'t perform at the highest level.  I stopped following baseball for about 6 years now.  I\'ll watch the World Series if I have the time, but thats about it!

I think they should take each AAA team and put them up to the pros, giving the shaft to all the spoiled brats.  I need my baseball, by far the best sport to watch IMO.

Baseball will survive after this strike, since there have been like 7 or so strikes since \'79.  But I don\'t think i\'ll be a big a fan as I used to be.....these greedy millionare bastards piss me off.  IMO only about 60% of MLB players are "pro" material, the other 40% would be in the minors if baseball didn\'t do all this expansion crap and spread the talent so thin.

You are missing the point..sure they are paid obscene amounts of money..but you know what..that is their standard of living..it increases as yours does.

If you arent making the amount of money you should be..you get pissed off..thats where they are.

It isnt about how much they already make...that is a given for people in the spot light. It is about the rising costs of living. Some of them dont get a raise for 7 years..do you know how much wages and stabdards of living can change in 7 years???

That is just how it is....it is no different then you or I getting pissed b/c we aren\'t being paid competitive wages. We also have choices to strike...or find a new line of work.

The ones who don\'t get a new contract for 7 years are the ones with really long term contracts, and the ones with really long contracts are the ones making the most money.  10 million a year will be just as easy to live on in 7 years as it is now.

As for competative wages, name me a basketball player, or hockey player, or football player...or someone in any other sport making 252 mil over 10 years.  Baseball has the highest wages already.

No it isnt enough...otherwise, so many wouldnt be pissed off. It isnt all about money for all of them. When you make so much money..you budget accordingly. When that budget seems to be out of order..you look around and see what cn change.

Im slightly underpaid in my area..and if I could..I would strike, but we dont have a union.

Anywho...like I said before..its just like US, the "normal" peoples wages..they must continually increase, otherwise, our standard of living goes down.

Wages ARE continually increasing in baseball though.  I mean, what are you trying to argue for, an end to long term contracts?  Besides, generally people in long term contracts get increasing amounts of money as the years in the contract go on anyway.

As long as they get what the public continually offers..more money.

When I mention competitive wages earlier..I meant basically what the standard is for the few that are within certain income brackets.
