The ps2 is scaring me again. After one dead ps2..that is not good. Anywho..on to the problem. Today Im watching the simpsons season2 which I just bought..and 15 minutes into it..the sound and screen start to freeze and unfreeze every 15 seconds or so.

The only other time I have experianced this was due to heat when I was on a movie marathon of 14 hours with my home dvd player.

I figure heat couldnt have been an issue since it had only been on for 15 minutes. I shut it down and ran the same episode again..it was gone and no problems since with a movie or a game.

Any idea\'s?

My PS2 refuses to play Chasing Amy 90 percent of the time and when it does play it - it only makes it to chapter 15 and then freezes up.
Figures.

I have had Sony fix my PS2 twice now and it has broken again and will not play all DVD\'s. It\'s annoying but nothing big, I mean as long as I can play Madden and Socom I will be happy.

same here... I\'m just extra careful since I paid 300 bucks for it... I try to keep it perfect, and I barely ever get problems. The only problems I get are from the dust on the eye, but I fix that by cleaning manually.
.... take the skin and peel and back...

now doesn\'t it make you feel better?

damn, I really wonder how some of you treat your PS2s. There are several reasons to why it might just stop playing certain mediums. It could be dust, the system overheating, playing scratched DVDs/CD etc...

I have several friends who have had problems - but when I go to their place, only to see how they treat their other electronics, I really shouldn\'t wonder.
