I was just using them as examples... Alternating rock and rap... Showing you how listing them in the same line doesn\'t look too bad.

But just for the record the top 5 artists I\'m listening to now, in no particular order:

Some people have to start somewhere. He did live the life of a poor man, has risen to the top, and had to sell drugs to support his family.

my fav bands?

if i even listen to music (mostly when i do yardwork),  Mike Doughty gets heavy rotation along with aphex twin and ignition.  oh, and anything off of the Sub-Pop and Dischord labels in the early to mid 90\'s.

i read on the bus into town and back everyday, and when im in my jeep, i have audio books form the library.  

i have an unquenched thirst for knowledge so i always have a book with me in some form or another

i dont waste my time or hearing on "modern" music, let alone rap.  the only rap artist i liked in the last few 5 years was tribe called quest and apparantly i hear they disbanded.  and the last "alternative" band that was any good was Radiohead but thom york wasted no time in becoming a martyr

kurt cobain was the only one of the musicians of today to have any sense of what he had become and it destroyed him, figuratively and literally.  he had personally glorified, whored, and ruined the alternative scene.

im sorry bro, but Korn is the epitome of MTV sellout

they might as well hook up with p-diddy and remix "its all about the benjamins, what?"

What exactly did he become that led to him committing suicide? I honestly don\'t know since I was 5 when Nevermind took the world by storm. I read every biography of him and went to every Nirvana site but never got a solid answer.

And exactly how did he ruin the alternative scene? Please tell me it wasn\'t his music(which as you probably know is regarded as some of the best ever). Just looking for solid answer here, whether they\'re the ones I want to hear or not.

actually, i dont feel like explaining either more than i already did, but anyhoo....

kurt was ashamed at what he had become, the posterchild of the "alternative scene" that had now become pop-culture.  he couldnt stand the thought of doing one more show in front of 10,000 screaming teen-agers who happened to have seen "smells like teen spirit" on MTV and begged thier parents to buy them tickets.  wanna know when he lost the edge?  when MTV barred from from playing "rape me" for the VMA\'s.  thats when he knew he was nothng more than a fukn puppet and he become the corporate rock star he always loathed.

and about korn?  the only thing korn would kill themselves for, is money

you guys can think what you want, and say im full of shit all day long.  I remember what music used to be, and what it meant to us.  nothing like the bubblegum crap you see on MTV now.  its almost revolting.

i remember millions of metallica fans raging when metallica released its 1st video decades after they started.  it was all downhill from there.  

not that i can blame them for selling out, money makes the world go round, eh?
