Overclocking and Framerate, you what?
« on: September 04, 2002, 05:33:32 AM »
ok, so I\'ve been reading up on the Gainward Geforce3 Powerpack!!! ti500 Tv Jumbo Golden Sample /agp 128mb Ddr Ti-200 Chipset With Tv-out which I ordered and I came across this review and it was talking about how good it was at overclocking and it even came with a program to do it. It said somthing about being about to overclock to 550 mhz fine http://gotapex.com/reviews.php?rev=gainti500/p2.html now what does this mean? also it did tests on games like RTCW, Max Payne and Quake 3 and gave you what Framerate they could go up to and on what resolution, what is a good framerate to run those sorts of games http://gotapex.com/reviews.php?rev=gainti500/p3.html any help would be great.

the higher the framerate the better

yer max is gonne be also limited by yer monitor

my monitor does 85mhz at 1280x1024 so anything over that is skipped

carefull with overclocking.  go too far, and yer card is toast

best thing you can do is leave it at stock settings

that card will be fast enough without the 3-5 FPS you might get from overclocking

a good 17" should do 85mhz at 1280x1024 and 100mhz at 1024x768
