...GT3 killer.

I don\'t have it. I have no opinion. But have you played it?

I saw an ad on this game in my new "Import Tuner" the other day. The game looks pretty damn promising, but it says its only for the x-box. BTW it being labeled the "GT3 killer" is a little hard to believe right now. Anyways i still want to try the game out for myself!:D
Keep it sideways......Initial D style!!!

Wrong forum buddy.

But no, GT3 still reins supprem. I was actually really dissapointed with SGT2002. I thought it was gonna be alot better, and uses XBOX\'s \'powerful PS2 kicking hardware\'.

Seriously though, this just proves the point that PS2 is still a very powerful machine. If only all dev\'s could get out of it what Polyphony have.

Actually, I really like the sound of SegaGT2002.

The biggest problem with GT3:A-Spec was the AI.  They just had their routine.  A simulation racer on the scale of GT3 with agressive AI sounds sweet in my books.

However the rest of it sounds like it falls short.  I mean, GT3 had tonnes of tracks and they got repetitive.  Only 8 tracks in SegaGT?  Ugh..

I might check it out, because I played the hell out of GT3 (my brother bought it) and I\'m looking for a nice simulation racer of my own.  Perhaps a rental.

Ok, I played about a good 10 hr of Sega GT2002. When booting the disc up, the intro looks like a copy of GT3. Pistons, fuel etc. then ingame movies of the tracks. Nice set up screens. You start with only 13,000 to pick up your first car and I\'m tell you no good deals for a fast car. You can pick up very old cars with only 100 HP +- I started with an old Toyota celica. Now while racing the graphics are up and down from GT3. The track design looks good but sometime not as good as GT3. GT3 car designs looks better too but the developers did a close job. Another thing there is like a blur filter is on when racing but off in replays. WTF! Two things I don\'t like about the game is when you go in the grass or dirt, your car will slow down about 25-30% in speed until you get out. Bah!

The other is the damage level your car gets. If you hit a car or wall, your car gets damage level will go up and your prize money will go in smoke too. If you car got max damages, you will lose $2,000 off your prize money.  So it\'s from $1-2,000 in damages lost. At the end of the race, it will automatic take out your damages cost from your prize money winnings and leaving you with a sad face. With this damages cost, it\'s going to take you longer to make any money. In all, the scores it got and reviews from others got me mad because it not even close as good as it sounds. I would say rent this one out and keep playing PGR. I would say, Sega GT2002 < PGR < RSC < GT3

The developers makes the difference. Oh I forgot about the AI, Sega GT2002 > GT3

I can\'t wait for PGR2 next year!  Looks very sweet!  :D

*Gasp*

An actual in-depth and thoughtful post by pstwo about why he feels a particular way for a game. Quick! Someone scour TXB to make sure he didn\'t copy paste this! :p j/k

Good job man, this is all I ask of anyone in console debating. Definately a lot more effective than a laughing smiley face and a " WOW GOTY!!!11". :D

Sega GT What???

XBox What???

What???

GOTY What???
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

Yeah, they didn\'t like my post when I talked about raping pstwo then sniffing crack on his ass then eating him.(seriously, wtf are you talking about Boz?)
Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

Pstwo, D-Day was joking (though the humor could be questionable. ;) ).

Yeah, a post was deleted. It would of ended up being a huge lets bash Rast / discussion on Rast, so I got rid of it. No, I didn\'t delete Ashfords, because simply, his was humor. Big difference. Than again, this is a communist community, as a \'certain someone\' would say.
;)

Seriously though, I am not goin\' to delete Ashford\'s post here. Just like I won\'t delete SonyFan\'s. They are both mods of Console Discussion and know the limits of the forum.

On another , un-related note. I have to agree with Sonyfan, good job Pstwo. Keep up the input on games. It\'s a welcome change from posting pictures and copying & pasting articles from IGN, not to mention that silly "GOTY" phrase over and over. In the end, its all about personal input and personal input has to be in depth and honest, which your Sega GT input was.

Oh, I get it.  Since he\'s a mod he\'s allowed to break the rules, similar to policeman being allowed to speed. ;)
