We\'re fighting a different kind of war here Luckee. We\'re still relying on the lessons learned in the last war to see us through. (Air bombing the shyt out opponents, followed up by clean sweaps by ground troops)
This is no different than the British failing to accomodate for militia gurrella attacks durring the revolutionary war or the French digging in for trench warfare in the face of a blitzkreig. We need to change our strategies, and change them FAST, or else we won\'t be able to really protect ourselves efficently against terror attacks. Besides, these military boys convinced congress to build up a massive inventory of high-tech weapons which are about as outdated in this type of warfare as the tank is to air wars. It looks kinda bad on them if they don\'t get a chance to use em. (*Cough.. Cough.. Iraq.. Cough*)
BTW: Anyone else think that putting Anti-Aircraft missles into the Washington DC is a BAD idea. Christ.. why don\'t we just declare martial law while we\'re at it. Funny.. in all the years we were fighting against massive superpower with a nuclear aresnal to rivals our own and an spies aplenty.. we never saw a need for homeland security. It was considered unconstitutional.. and proven so after the actions of Joe McCarthy eluded to what life would be like with such an institution in place. But it\'s A-Ok now against a much smaller threat who has to use our own planes as missles since they can\'t afford bombs or the aircraft to carry them.
