mm, can I ask you what you are running for a connection? I have DSL now and my best is about 90 kbs. When I had cable it was about 148 kbs. Are you running T1?

thats actually well over a T1 speed
a T1 is only 1.544 Mb/sec

im on cable

my neighborhood is all old people, so i asked the cable buy how many people are on the local switch, and he said 6, when its designed to actually support every household if needed (probably a couple hundred in my neighborood)

so basically i have free reign to abuse the bandwidth

ive seen speeds of over 1MB/sec sometimes

here, i just DL\'d the unreal tournament 2003 demo

thats over one MB every 2 seconds

EDIT: Wow, I\'m stunned. That game looks amazing. So many moving things in the backgrounds. :eek:

It doesn\'t look like the clouds deform or anything tho... from what I could see in the movie, they just rotate around very slow.

I have a similar condition as mm though I live in "da hood" to say and well let\'s just say computer\'s aren\'t very popular around here so it\'s like me and 2 other people sharing all the broadband around the block.

Ive gotten 600+ kbps in school, but I think they have like 4 100mb links or something. The sys admin up there is too stupid to know what kind of connection they have.
