A new in car camera that tracks drivers movements from the time they get into their car and can detect signs of fatigue has been developed in Australia.
The FaceLab system is mounted on the dashboard of cars and monitors such things as blinking and face movements. The system then alerts drivers if they start to look tired.
The developers say "We use two cameras that give us an offset from your face which gives us 3D depth information."

Technology, blah.....
What happened to the good old days when a guy could fall asleep at the wheel and let a tree or ditch wake him up?

That is a pretty good idea. I doubt though that too many people will actually pay attention to it.

So do I really need something to tell me if I\'m tired? Will it also tell me when to pull over and leave a shit?

I read a similar article on some Aussie site about this same thing.
Evidently when it thinks your too tired to drive, then the car is electronically limited to a top speed of 40kms/hr until the engine is turned off.
Once the car is back on, it resets itself. Its purely software driven.
