I have an older Armada E500 laptop that someone gave me. The battery will not charge. It shows the battery in the power management window charging but it never charges.

I am not sure if it\'s the laptop or the battery. Is there a way to test the battery?

Thanks!

I know all the Dell laptop batteries have a button on the side to test how much juice is left in them.  The meter fils after you just tap the button and it shows your level.  I dunno if that\'s standard.  I\'m a bit new to this whole laptop business.
