win98 is suk.  If you\'re going to dual-boot something dual boot it with 2k/XP.

I know Win98 sucks but I heard 2K and XP aren\'t much better (well, XP a bit better).

Ok, whatever. I don\'t like MS to begin with. Maybe I\'ll upgrade but not sure. Want to try Linux first and see how I like it. So Linux partitions the hard drive automatically so I can have 98 and Linux?

it\'s called partition magic 7.2 the best program out there,

[oh and sorry i was gonna give yuo the program for free but unfortunatly I\'m not allowed to give that information on this board, so good luck!

Some versions of Mandrake used to come with a limited version of Partition Magic.  The best thing to do is get a copy of this yourself; it\'s great to have anyway.

Windows will cause probs if it\'s not on 1st partition of disk.  Win2k is [size=8]>[/size] Win98 (which is steamy DOS crap).

Install Linux on 2ndary partition and its boot loader there as well.  You can install LILO or GRUB on your MBR but it can be a headache.  Check out this dual-boot howto:
