I have no problem with people letting loose Omen.  My problem is when people go off topic.  If someone creates a potentially descent thread, it so often gets diverted to Racer and his gheyness.

I also don\'t think that the problem is that people let loose like that, but that it is done in practically every topic.  It would be better if there were some topics that could stay serious, to contrast with the "fun" ones.

I see what you mean Vid, and I agree.  Many of my threads have gotten maybe 2 replies before the topic is changed.  God damn I hate all of you!

In all seriousness, if you hate it so much, lead by example. Dont do it in other threads man. I love alot of what you bring to the boards and unfortunately, I have no problem with calling ppl out :) You my friend do alot of that type of thing yourself.

Personally, I could really care less about off-topic. That\'s not the reason I come here. I come here primarilly to talk about games. Now, I haven\'t posted much in main forum cause, well, I don\'t have a PS2 yet.. and my views of Sony and the PS2 are slightly shifting to "unpopular". That\'s fine.. I could whine and bytch about it like some members have.. but instead I just don\'t bother posting there until I have something worthwhile to post or see something worth my attention. Mainly, I stick to Console Discussion.. which is my main reason for being here anymore after being made a mod. Recently tho.. it\'s been going down the shitter REAL fast. The reason.. Closing of Console Debate.

Like I thought, those people who were turning CD into a cesspool have switched over to Console Discussion and turned it into Debate v.2. Granted, it\'s not as bad as it was over there.. but the standards that place had when it was first created have lowered a great deal. I don\'t like it.. and I try to clean it up a bit.. being nice at first by jus giving warnings and editing posts.. but it never stops. It\'s almost to the point where I don\'t even wanna be a mod over there anymore.. and having it merged with Console Debate\'s threads didn\'t help matters any. (Granted, I know it was an accident.. I\'m not dogging you Ryu, jus commenting on the situation)

As far as that section of the forums goes.. I think the best thing to help it would be to wipe it clean save for a few threads and start over. Enforce the rules strictly.. and if anyone wants to make rude comments to other members, post pics of fat chicks, or add nothing but a snide comment or two.. then open back up Console Debate. Don\'t these people see that this is what made Debate a cesspool in the first place??? That\'s not fixing the problem.. that\'s jus shifting it around a lil and giving it a new name.
Please Bleed.. so I know that you are real.

From this moment on, the raping spree is over.  All your man cherries are safe...for now!

But in all seriousness, I\'m usually not completly responsible for the swearving of the topic (with the exceptions of the fat chick pix, but that\'s not much different than the ever popular "this thread sux" pix).  I usually post something stupid, inside of my actual argument, and then people reply to that.  but seeing as though you people can\'t restrain yourselfs, I will refrain ;)

I understand that as well and I dont blame you for that..I blame them :) It\'s cool that most of us can accept where our faults within this place lie.

Step2..doing something about it :)

the sad part about these threads, is that everyone comes inhere saying how wrong everyone else is, and how they really want the forums to change.  and they do, for about a day.  then it\'s back to normal.  no offense to Ryu, but this thread will just be a waste of his time, and all of ours, because it will acomplish nothing.

This is slight off topic , but to SonyFan, I still think we are doing a remarkable job with Console Discussion. We have proven that it is possible to maintain civil debates for the most part and some members we never expected actual good content from, are providing us with just that, great content (Pstwo). No, it\'s not perfect, but it is a very fine step up from Console Debating. The name calling has dropped, the stupid Xbox sales threads are gone and the debates are now civil and well thought out.......for the most part and that is all I ask for at this point.

Off-Topic is another thing altogether. There is no way to split it and there is no clear line on what it should represent. Off-Topic has typically changed as our members have changed. Pre-PS2, Off-Topic was mostly just boring stuff and was rarely used. Then it went through a period where people was posting...Then 9/11 showed we could have rational discusses and now members are cutting loose, which is good, it\'s just got out of hand.

It allows us to express our opinions within a subject for which they are actually on topic instead of being accused of doing the same thing when we are accusing others of..as I have been in the past.

I read almost everyone\'s post, and they point out good opinions (sp?), I do believe it is getting a little dangerous in here. I mean sure- a good ghey caption contest, talking about getting drunk, and a hot chic thread every once and a while is appropriate. But some of the stuff is not. I also have mixed feelins about my feelings- sometimes we just want to have a good laugh, some of us may be going through hard times and need to smile. I myself am experienceing my parents divorce, and I come here to laugh. A lot of the members here are really nice people (from what I can tell), and sort of make me feel at home. Sometimes people need to just not post (I wont list names) something that really isnt high quality.

Of course, I doubt anyone will read this, Its just my 2 cents.

In all honesty.. I don\'t think we need anymore mods.. I think we have too many.. Some of them sometimes act power hungry and stuff no offense to anyone.  I do see where you say that topics change after about 2 posts.   I know Weltall said some things to me about why he basically left and he said like there were too many restrictions.  Something like the forums basically turned to garbage.

If there is a topic in OT that you don\'t like, like about woman or being drunk then just don\'t read it.. No one is tellin you to click on it or whatever.  People who make the mutiple threads about the same topics usually never knew there was a topic about it previously so why complain about it.

I think that if anymore restrictions are made about what people can post or should post than I think you will see a decline in members.. Maybe that would be for the best in a sense but you might lose some quality ones too.

Some people around here don\'t understand what makes quality humor.  Once you make a joke re-visit once maybe twice and then for God\'s sake leave it alone.  Enough w/the masturbation and gay stuff and crap about ###Racer###.  Half of the ppl spewing that stuff weren\'t even here when he made that post.
