This forum is... Weird.

Alright, the Admin gloves are off and I\'m making this thread as a general observation of the community at large.  Just so all of you know, you can all freely respond to this thread same as any other and I will not edit or delete any posts in this thread so long as they stay on topic.

I\'ve been here a long time and in that time, I have enjoyed maybe 3/4 of that time spent here.  I\'ve made a couple of friends, helped people with relationships, honed my writing skills, and have actually increased my status from newbie, to member, to moderator, and now to administrator.  It\'s been a pretty wild ride with many different threads, hundreds of different members, and thousands of different posts.

Lately though, things have been different and I can\'t say the direction that the forums have taken are something I am particularly proud of.

The diversity of the forum is just... nill.  In fact, in my personal opinion, I think the intelligence level has actually decreased greatly in the past few months.  The decrease in quality posting was a key indication starting back in late May, but I didn\'t say anything about it.  I figured it was purely limited to those in debating\\discussion, but I realize now, especially after we basically nuetered those forums altogether, and I admit to being directly responsible for that, the poor quality of posting was not limited to there.

In fact, off-topic has quite possibly become the worst and largest dung filled cess pool in forum history.  I mean, we have threads about getting drunk, threads about how women are total slime, and then threads about what women members would like to bang, but even worse, there are multiple threads about EACH of those topics marking just a small portion of the crap that has graced this place.  Where\'s the quality posting?  Where\'s the great threads?  Where\'s the heart?

I don\'t mean to just make this my bitch and brag session, but lets be honest with eachother and see just how many quality posters have left and how many we have truly gained.  Take a look at the favorite members threads and take a look at how frequently those most coveted members post nowdays.  It kind of makes you wonder what happened, but in all honesty, they left and moved on for the exact same reasons I am commenting on here and although I think they do miss out on certain threads from time to time, they don\'t really miss much.  The community here itself has dwindeled in quality and the diversity of members has just been limited for a long time and the reasons as to why are more apparent to me moreso now than ever.

I guess if we wanted to make this a discussion, I should ask a question or for comments in general, but lets get this rolling here and I\'ll interject something later after this thread has taken its form, hopefully with replies that are thought out rather than "it\'s too long, give me the gist!"  I guess you can add that to the list of things that have just ruined the quality in posting here as well.

For those of you who agree with me and actually read all of that, honestly, what is keeping you here?

Those who disagree, state why you like this forum and what keeps you coming back every day.

And, if either group is willing to go the extra mile, why not list what it would take to make this forum a better place for all members.

I am actually getting sick of all the ghey stuff.

Everyone lately has been in the closet. I know its funny, but that ms paint topic really opened my eyes to the imaturity of many members.

There aren\'t many great off-topic things to talk about. People just wanted to have fun, so this is what happened.

I\'m tired of the jokes about being ghey, too. The whole thing just isn\'t funny anymore after the 1000th time.

There\'s an entire world of information out there and you\'re telling me the most fun thing to talk about is raping other members?  I find that hard to believe.

I think people are just having fun, maybe there should be a new rule were we have to wear uniform and can\'t post anything but politics.

Give us an example of what we should talk about then. I know most of us try to post our best, but there just isn\'t anything important to say at the moment.

Since when did improving the quality of posting and the quality of topics have anything to do with stifiling ones level of enjoyment?  I always figured that improving one aspect directly affects the other.  I just don\'t see the fun in the vast majority of recent posts.

We\'ve tried fixing this forum before with a number of different issues. First there was the huge amount of spam, then the spaminators, then the goal to reach 100,000 posts and then... well, the list goes on and on with the problems in quality and each issue directly affects the problems at hand and increases them and each fix to the issues has either been massively ignored, or massively rejected and met with 10-20 different threads about how people will leave if a change isn\'t made, even with the illustrious post counts that so many of you care so greatly about. Since when did a forum of discussion turn into a forum of posts strictly prohibited to talking about lude jokes, half naked women, and anal raping other members? Are you saying that those topics are the only "fun" ones? Or is that just the limits that people have reached on this board?

Oh, I guess we should talk about terrorism and Bush talking to the UN and whatnot? I see a lot of that on TV already, we don\'t need more of that in the forums.

If you all think what we talk about are just plain garbage, then why won\'t you do something about it? Start making threads that are much more than theomen raping ppl. People might follow.

I like to kid around as much as the next person but the forums have definently taken a dive since I first came here.  To much dicking around and not enough serious talk.  I don\'t know how this post will be taken because I don\'t know what level I\'m held on in peoples minds but the stuff like raping does get old.

At one point, a number of members tried posting different topics to try and breathe new life into the boards so I am obviously NOT the first to think that the stuff being posted is garbage, but even when people tried to get a flood of new creative topics in here, they were met with replies like "isn\'t this enough threads from you for the week?"  and "well, nice to see you can spam too" etc etc.  Just like I said though, each fix is met with just as much BS as before.

Maybe, but I\'m all about fun, TheOmen cracks me up with his constant raping, I come to this forum to get away from stress, I\'m all for having a laugh, I\'m not really bothered about the state of this forum, I\'m still enjoying posting here and will continue to ( coming up to a year soon, go me )
