Should we support this site more?
« on: September 28, 2002, 01:10:41 AM »
I dunno about you guys but I rarely, and I mean very rarely visit PSX2Central.com

I purely come to the forums via shortcut. Do any of you actually visit the site for news, previews etc?

The only reason I ask is because with over 2000 active members, this is one big online community when you think about it, and the site doesnt get updated all that much. Should we support it more?

Of course we should if we expect it to be around everyday.

I rarely, if ever, visit the main page. But then again, I have no PS2 and is excused. :D

I do however open the banners in a new window (when I remember). That way you support the site - and can easily close the banner window again. Just do that every once in a while (or every time you log on preferrably).

Yeah, but what I mean is, does anyone actually visit the site? Do you think it would be updated more if more members supported it?

Its featured in Yahoo.com\'s \'most wanted\' PS2 section.

That was brought up over a year ago and he added Unknown and a few other people to write for him.

I honestly never ever go to the main page.  It had previews for games that had been out for months.  Just didn\'t make sense.

Bjorn does a great job with the time he has posting what he can to give content quite often, but it\'s just tough when you don\'t have much help.

I proposed doing a reviews section with a bit of an edge where we can all write reviews on games.  I thought it would be fun to not give the politically correct views on games.  If a game is shit say it\'s shit.  But that got shot down.  We could easily have a reviews forum and then the text of those posts could be added into a nice section on the main page.

But to answer your question, very very rarely go their.  I do click on the links here every once and a while.

Maybe we should propose that some members should help out with the site?

I would certainly be willing to help out here and there. I just think its sucks that the site is well, no offense, kinda crappy, and we have these excellent forums.

There are plenty of very good PS2 sites with really crappy forums.

I\'d take good forums over good site any day of the week.  I go to IGN or gamespot or what not once a month, maybe.  I come here all the time.

help him out because you want to be a part of something, not because you feel "you should"

Videoholic, if you want to post reviews, go for it.  Ryu and others have been doing it for some time.  Either go to the main forum, or preferably Discussion.

I can\'t post reviews, I don\'t play enough games, but I do like to read what everyone else likes to say.  Like the one in the main forum right now about MGS2.

People didn\'t say this shit about the game when it first came out.  Everyone just said good things about it.  Finally the truth comes out and it\'s fun and pretty, but the story is poop.

If this site is listed on Yahoo and is one of the first among the choices, then it will get big bucks even though content lacks. Sorta all depends on what banner advertising thingy bjorn has.

Sticking on subject, I never visit the actual site, it\'s kinda lacking in a way, but it\'s not so bad.. And yea, I probably would support it.. dunno how though, but I would. ;)
