Yeah you can own a gun in every state but the laws on concealed carry vary from state to state.

You can carry a concealed gun in Florida, you just have to pass a class.I\'m not sure how long the class is but I\'m pretty sure you can finnish it in one day.
I swear this post is not spam!!!!Listen,if this post was spam, would I do this? [spreads mayonaise over bread]

Yes you can carry a gun in your car with a permit as long as it doesn\'t have the clip in it and is secured in some sort of compartment.
In a vehicle they go by the three step rule.

This is taken from the link you gave.

Quote
It is lawful to possess a concealed firearm for self defense or other lawful purposes within the interior of a private conveyance, without a license, if the firearm is securely encased or is otherwise not readily accessible for immediate use. Nothing herein contained prohibits the carrying of a firearm other than a handgun anywhere in a private conveyance when such firearm is being carried for a lawful use. The exemption shall not authorize the carrying of a firearm concealed on the person.

It is against the law to carry a concealed weapon on you, in the state of Florida. With or without a permit. Unless you are govt. or police.

SonyFan - What do you know about Forties and Nines? I practiaclly grew up in that store.

Anyways as far as the constitution goes. It was originally supposed to be the "right to arm bears". One of the most popular forms of protection was attaching a musket to a bear and letting him maul and shoot your enemies. Unfortunately, Jefferson was a bit dyslexic and he messed up the wording. The other founding fathers didn\'t have the heart to him (Jefferson was really sensitive about his condition). That is why you don\'t see any more bears with guns attached to them.

^^A little fun fact.

Adan, do you think it\'s wrong that only your government can have guns?  I don\'t own a gun and probably never will but I believe average law-abiding citizens should ALWAYS be allowed to buy one.

Just back from Spain. Been there for a week visiting my gf :)
Don\'t like that people can get hold of guns and such, the best/most responsible person ever can get crazy and do some wacked stuff. But I do think that pepper spray/mace should be allowed. For defense, for like women that get asulted by rapists or that kind of people. It won\'t kill them. But it is illegal here in Sweden :/

Since I just visited Spain I wonder:

How easy is it becoming an animal cruelty figure torturing animals to death in Spain?

Do I have to show my skills sticking and knifing a cat/dog to death or can I just show up at the arena with my knives and sword?

Do that in Sweden and you would face years in jail.

Adan - I\'ve used them plenty of times, but only on the shooting range or in my back yard. I can\'t carry my .38 on me yet since I don\'t have a licence to carry a concealed weapon. I don\'t think I\'m gonna bother getting it anyhow. My cousin carries his 9mm around with him everywhere for "protection", but I figure it\'d jus make situations worse.

I believe that guns shouldn\'t be so easily accessible to young kids...or people who are cracked out. In Arizona...you can own a gun when you\'re 16. Hell, I need to get a gun now just to protect myself from them! ;) Just kidding. But really...gun laws should be more restricted. Like obvious things like suspicious-looking people buying guns in large numbers. As long as you\'re old enough...you can do whatever the hell you want.

I dunno...I might get a gun myself in the future...but I won\'t be swinging it around for the world to see screaming "Look at my shiny new gun!"

ALot of gun laws are already rediculous as it is, we dont need more. We just need better enforcement of the laws already in existence(sp?)

What does "suspicious" constitute as? Anybody could be considered that to be honest. I dont see the problem with buying a large number of guns, some ppl are collectors. NOw 50 glock19\'s by a person other than a dealer is another story :D

Saw some bullfighting arenas and had the urge to blow them to bits. Do that shit in Sweden and you would face years in jail.

Bjorn, you are touching the most problematic point in Spain with respect to visitors and tourists. Bullfighting is a very ancient tradition (notice that there were bullfighters before America was discovered by Colon) and society keep it as a treasure. I hate these things, I hate bullfightings, and many people do. But, for now, it\'s impossible to erase. I can\'t do anything but tell i\'m not with that people who enjoy watching died bulls.

SonyFan I think that\'s a good and correct use, carrying and using it outdoors may make the things worse.

THX, I agree with my government in that only police, special forces and qualified persons can only carry a gun. I must admit i like guns, but for me it\'s impossible to get one legally.

I guess the problem that I would have with that, and the reason that our constitution allows so many people to own a gun, is what if that government began to abuse its power?  If only the government can own guns, and they became a cruel or abusive government, the people would have no way of fighting back, and would be at that government\'s mercy.
