check yer manual for max resolution/refresh rate
for a good 17" it should do:
100mhz at 600x600 or
85mhz at 1024x768
be carefull going too high, you CAN damage yer monitor

depends on the monitor, I have a samsung 900nf one of the best 19inch crt out there, it;s running right now at 120hz refresh rate at 1152x864 res. Beautiful monitor uses the Diamondtron tube.

Ugh, a low refresh rate is the WORST thing ever. I can\'t stand anything below 75 hz (for all you n00bs out there - be sure to check that you\'re NOT running 60 Hz or anything like it - it tires the eyes a lot).
