if the "Radeon 9700" is capabale of acheiving these type of scores i wonder what the nVidia NV30 chips will be capable of :eek:.

If u haven\'t noticed mm, it\'s a graphics benchmark. sigh

I never said amd don\'t make better processors then intel. I said a 1.8ghz amd cpu to a 1.8ghz intel cpu. The amd is on top. For the price difference, the amd cpu would be a better buy.  

If i remember right, you said Voodoo ownz Nvidia. When you had your good old voodoo5 card. What you on now mm?

The card rocks. Pity it\'s around 1 grand here in aus. I doubt many people would buy it now, unless there idiots imo. I don\'t think any games even need that much power right now. Would be a better idea to wait alittle till the price drops.

I thought you were an hardcore Intel fan once Souly, ehh no matter really.

I for one prefer AMD, for no reason other than I\'ve had good experiances with their procs and they\'re cheaper. More bang for the buck.

But if I were about to buy a CPU now, I\'d buy an Intel, because the current Pentium design has more life left in it than the current Athlon design, they\'re kinda riding on the AthlonXP until they can get the Hammers out.

However the newest Barton cores seem to be performing nicely.

I ran 3dmark 2002Second edition on my R9700 Pro and I got the second highest score with my setup. (1.2 GHZ, 256MB, 4X agp and no AA on and 1024X768 32BPP I forget what my score was.........look at my post about the Radeon card on this Forum (PC H/S) it is there somewhere.........and i only have a 250 WAtt Power supply (they really need a 300 watt......I\'ll problay get a new PS sometime in the next few months...and maybe an 8X AGP MoBo.


P.S. Tyrant, Where did you get that program?????? I would like to check it out!  It looks like it would be better than the one you get with XP!

I love both amd and intel.  I\'m just not a fanboy. I prefer Amd for the cheaper processors. I\'m gonna get a 2.6 xp next. Then when i update to a another mb, probably in a years time. I\'ll get a p4 or depending on what amd have, maybe one of there processors again. I really can\'t understand how people think because they have a rep for frying. They seem to think its easy to do it. Most amd based mb these days have shutdown systems to prevent frying.   If i was goin for the BEST cpu i could find, it\'ll be intel. If it was a amd 2.6 vs intel 2.5 i\'d go amd.

If Intel would stick with a cpu socket-type for more than 6 months I might consider buying one.  That and drop the price about $250.  And as soon as that Radeon goes down it\'s mine!

I\'m surprised mm even posted here b/c he hates ati and amd.

The program just tells your your cpu/video/mb details etc.. It doesn\'t overclock anything as far as i know.. That\'s done in your bios these days.

emp, all P4\'s are chip style although slot 1 is more practical, AND cpu\'s will go back to that style someday when chips get too hot, ala AMD\'s

BAH! I guess it doenst work too well with XP...........

lol, I just try to keep up with alittle over what’s needed for gaming, not technology etc.  Otherwise you\'re wasting your money untill you really need that technology. Kinda like having a 20inch C@#k and only being able to use 10inches...
