just cheaper, as in not the highests quality, its ok, but when you go on a better one you will know the difference, also prob only has 1 pick up thing, some have 2, 3 etc, makes it sound different.. also the materials like wood is cheaper

Sometimes beginner guitars have a narrower neck so that it\'s easier to place your fingers on different strings until you build up some finger strength. I bought a beginner electric guitar about 17 years ago, but I sold it after I bought a Charvel 2, because my hand felt way too cramped on the beginner guitar by that time.

Those songs are actually very easy..... trust me, if you practice enough, within the first month you should be able to play those without even thinking.

I have two trumpets. A student (beginner) and a professional. I can definitely tell a difference. They play and feel better. If you are just starting guitar, buy the beginner one.

if you\'re serious about playing, you should get a nice guitar asap. A lot of beginner giutars have crap action, and will hinder your playing. Ask daddy for a les paul. :D

Right now, you won\'t be able to really tell much of a difference. Once you train your ears to pick up the different notes and tones and get a good feel for the craftmanship of the axe, then the difference between playing on a professional grade guitar and a beginners model will be like night and day.

Please specify what type of guitar this beginner model is.  (Electric, steel-stringed acoustic, classical, other)  If you know the exact make and model, then post that also.

If it\'s an electric, then you probably won\'t go wrong buying a beginner model to save money.  As long as the body and neck are full scale, there shouldn\'t be a problem.

Having said that, there are other problems that might be present, as CHIZZY said.  You have to inspect the guitar to make sure the neck is not warped, or you could experience weird buzzing that will be very hard to correct.  If the neck is ok, and there are no cracks in the neck/body joint, there should be no other problems that cannot be corrected with relatively simple repairs.  Even cheapo guitars can be set up properly with correct action and string tension.

It\'s just a matter of personal preference.  The big danger is that if you\'re a beginner on the guitar, you might not be aware that there is a problem, so you might continue practicing on the guitar, not knowing that it should be repaired somehow.  I\'d recommend that if you haven\'t picked up and played an expensive guitar, you should go to a guitar store and try it.  You can use that as a baseline to compare the status of the guitar you\'re planning to buy.

BTW, if the guitar is an acoustic of any type, then very little of the above advice applies.  Cheap acoustics really do sound cheap, and expensive acoustics really do sound good.  There are few bargains in the sound of an acoustic guitar.

^^^^^^^^^

WORD.

although if you gotta buy a cheap electric at first, buy an epiphone copy of something famous (ES-335, les paul, SG, etc...)
they\'re pretty good, all that\'s different are the electronics & materials. They use the same templates as the Gibsons....

Fender japan is good too. Avoid Korea. Mexi is OK.

Start cheap, but once you get going you will want something nice. Just go to your local Guitar Center and check out the difference from a starter guitar to a Les Paul. BIG DIFFERENCE. But so is the price. I think it\'s a good place to start to see if you want to continue playing, though. One thing about cheap guitars is that they are very hard to keep in tune.

Guitars are kind of like potato chips for me. One is never enough and I always want more. :)
