I like the G35..I feel it could use a little more power for its weight, then again that is all based on paper. I havent taken one for a test drive yet. I like the styling of them, espescially the 2dr\'s. The suspension is supposedly pretty decent while maintaining a comfortable ride.

Remember, it is a nissan(technically), so that is always good above 20k anyway :)

I read some reviews on it and it gets hammered in quite a few areas.  I was reading them in Car and Driver.  But they are so into BMW that I just take their writings with a grain of salt.  Car shopping blows, but I\'d have to say that imprezza is furthest from my list.

Only thing I can really suggest. Take a day when you will ahve ALL day free and go to various ealers test driving everything you are remotely intrested in.

Not only is it fun, but you can find the vehicle for you.

Hell, in your case, Id probably go with a new maxima..very quick for its size..decently comfortable..roomy enough for your family..reliablility. Plus you will save some coin vs. that 5series you have your eye on.

Stand corrected. The altezza lights are on other Nissan models. Blech!

I HATE altezzas (especially on Mustangs) but on the 2k2 Altimas and Maximas I think they look good.  They match the car and definitely don\'t have a cheap look to em.  But since they come stock they were designed by high-paid engineers rather than aftermarket Andy who churns these things out using cheap materials, selling to Honda owning kids.

The G35 has the most amount of power compared to others in its class (260hp V6 with 52:48 weight dist) and comes standard with a 5-spd automagic.  As for opinions from avg joes like yourself who test drove em check out this thread.  The general consensus seems to be the G35 is very fast compared to cars like a 330i or IS300 but BMW has a better drive.  Though I\'m Nissan biased I\'d have to agree that BMW will be a better ride if you\'re talking constant speed during long distances.  The steering response and feel of the road is why C&D love em so much.

But if I had to choose I\'d go for power, style, exclusivity and Nissan reliability.  How many BMWs compared to Inifnitis do you see on the streets?

edit- lol just noticed I went off-topic.  As for the new Impreza I like this style of headlights/hood much more than the last.  But something still has to be done about that wing!

Way more BMW\'s over here in CANADA, that for sure. The new 7 series is ugly, i\'m mean look what they did to the back of it.

BEST car EVER!!!! BMW M5 it\'s the shiznit!!!!!

Regarding the BMW 3 series, id get an Impreza WRX anyday over it. Go look at all the car magazines they admit for the price/performance the subaru WRX beats it, number #1 better handing in wet/snow conditions thanks to it\'s ALL WHELL Drive system, turbo chagred etc.....

BMW are good cars, but you will never get to experience what BMW really stands for unless you get the 540i, M5, M3 or 7 series. The 3series is a good car, but many cuts have been made on it, in order to keep the price down.

That;s what we are doing luckee.  I have a month to figure this out and I don\'t even really have to get anything within the month. I could easily just dump one car and keep driving the other till I find the right car.

It\'s nice going to dealerships and telling them we are just doing research and we aren\'t going to be ready to buy for a month. THey let you go easily and you still get what you want out of the shopping experience.

I do believe the Maxima has a "semi" altezza light. The Altima has it for sure. Anyway, as a former \'89 Sentra owner, I can attest to the longevity of Nissan engines.

Only major problem I had with it was the clutch plate needed to be replaced after 120,000 miles. Tranny was about to go after 220,000 miles before I sold it.

Not bad.

luckee, Dodge has created a Neon "WRX" killer but for $4000 less.

If they only made a rear wheel drive Neon. :)

yea, and its called the SRT..Ive known about this little doozy ever since it was only offered in black and had a supercharger iinstead of a turbo. I hope I can get my hands on it. SO far it will be limited production.

I forgot about the new altima\'s, but those arent really altezza\'s anyway..like you said sort of. If memory serves, the maxima\'s are nothing like altezza\'s.

The taillights of the 2002 model Altimas and Maximas have expensive looking altezzas (if that\'s the corect term for em).  It\'s more of a shiny metallic clear look than reflective cheap aftermarket altezzas though.

Comparison:

From Nissan\'s site: "New taillights feature a clear-lens design with a distinct chrome treatment, adding even more of an edge to Maxima\'s rear end styling."

OK, so I guess the max can be classified as them :) When I think altezza, I think of the one larger red lense on the inside of the clr one. I guess gman was correct when he said "altezza style"
