Right iv\'e played both demos over the last 2 days and quite enjoyed it.
CMR3 feels very arcadish compared to WRC2, thats not to mean that CMR3 is easier, CMR3 was a tough game.
i think that CMR3 is easier to get into, whilst WRC2 is a lot tougher. the handling takes a lot more getting used to.
There are lots of things that WRC2 has done to correct previous problems with WRC1, Load times are far quicker,
The graphics have gone up a notch (the replays are ace), and the presentation is excelent but there is something
that i cant quite put my finger on. The handling is certainly different but the sensitivity of the dual shock 2
makes it very hard to play the game and make it feel authentic. i suppose a steering wheel would make this game far
better. If evolution studios turns down the sensitivity in the final version then i\'ll be happy. i am certainly not going to
go straight out and buy WRC2 as it is very simlar to WRC1. i\'ll rent it first and see if the handling problem has been
addressed. i think it\'s the same demo as Racer has played, 3 stages with either the Purgeot 206 of Richard Burns or
the Skoda Octavia of Kenith Errikson. the 206 is set to a higher difficulty setting that the Octavia, you can tell this by how
the cars handle. the inside view on the 206 is also further back than in the Octavia. viewing is hampered serverley in
the 206 so on hilly stages you\'ll need to use an external camera. i must say, i think the issue of weight of the cars has been
addressed and they feel a lot better than last years effort and the cars look brilliant, proportions are spot on and you
can tell where all those extra polygons have gone. the damage model is there but i think that the difficulty on the 206
hasn\'t been set to maximum (i think Extreme is a game mode) as your car can take some severe hits and come away ok.
i also havn\'t had any tire blowouts which leads me to believe that the 206 has been set to the intermediate level.
remember, evo studios said that there were 3 difficulty settings, each had a different physics engine. i think that the 206
in the game is using a hybrid of WRC1 physics and the new physics coded for WRC2. if thats so, then i\'m looking
forward to the Extreme mode, the cars will probably act a bit more lifelike, like i said. i\'ll rent it first to see if thats
the case.. overall, i love it.. but not enough to warrant £40 in its current demo-form... i hope that this demo is an early build.
